NVIDIA in its latest "Project Beyond" hype video confirmed the new logo of GeForce RTX, the company's main gaming GPU brand. While the NVIDIA "eye" itself is unchanged, the "GeForce" part has a new typeface with uniform size for all letters. The video just about confirms that Project Beyond is about the next-generation RTX 40-series "Ada." NVIDIA is expected to unveil the series on Tuesday (20th September), at a special event as part of GTC, with a keynote address by CEO Jensen Huang.

Kinda boring that "project beyond" ended up being just the new videocard we all knew was coming, apart from that any Radeon users out there remember morphological AA? It is/was a post processing solution and it's effect on text is what I think about when I see this new font.

also with how the old logo had the G from GTX underneath the G from Geforce I feel this would be better:

From Gtx to Rtx. That is for sure huge leap. They definetly wasted around 100mil or 1 billion for this logo.

Granted there were a lot of very expensive man hours put into that font change. But to be fair they also made the slanted lines into vertical lines and turned a G into an R, so you start to claw back some value for money there.

nvidia admits, that their logo went to the dark side.

Not sure how RTX the banner itself is and represents that :D

Same, new one looks like someone slapped a quick edit in MS Paint without getting the actual font right.

Wouldn't it be epic if this logo was the result of someone at the end of the process didn't have the correct font pack installed and it defaulted to some generic windows font.

Wow, they employed someone to convert the text parts into a generic font that you've had in MS Word since the '90s. Am I expected to jump from joy? :kookoo:

They actually started streaming last night already with a countdown to the GTC reveal:

^ The "Ti or Tie" post-it note seems to be a dead giveaway that they will announce the RTX 4090, RTX 4080Ti and RTX 4080. This would also clear up the confusion over the alleged two RTX 4080s. I'm sure that the 12GB variant is the RTX 4080 and the 16GB variant is the RTX 4080Ti.

Anyone spot any other leads in this scene? In the folder names? The user name "user40" seems to confirm the RTX 4000 series but what could the date 8/25/2022 mean? Is that the date when nVidia wanted to originally reveal the RTX 4000 series at Gamescom? Is it the date when they received the first finished FE card? Or not a date at all but just another numbers game?

I hope they will clear up all the hints they gave away in this scene. It would be fun to find out what hints and clues there were (if any) :) .

See this was Good Game

Now its just a horrible mess. But I'm glad Nvidia managed to find a different font type in MS Word and WordArt. Well done guys, you sure made those yearly salaries count. Too bad you just copied the new Intel font, why didn't you add a few more shades of green at the same time? Or is that for next revamp

So you noticed it too :D

Maybe they wanted to add some more rounded letters so they could increase the relevance of DLSS? You get a free 8K/16K upscaled version of the logo with every new ADA GPU!, rendered live in the background so you can waste a few extra watts. They're still working hard on the RT update that will add a godray behind the letters, again, of course, rendered on the fly for extra wasteful efficiency. Probably will be added via a Game Ready update in 2023H2. At which point they will also issue an NFT for the ownership of said Godray. Not the logo itself, nono.

Of course. Intel has done it, Microsoft has done it, the company that I work for has done it, and now Nvidia has done it too.

I think the next step in capitalism's quest towards genericity will be to turn every company logo the same shade of grey.

Maxwell / Pascal EOL ~18 months from now?! :shadedshu:
They very well could be. Maxwell surprises me that it's even supported, those things are 8 years old now. The AMD competitor for both maxwell and pascal already had driver support axed.

Of course. Intel has done it, Microsoft has done it, the company that I work for has done it, and now Nvidia has done it too.

End of game ready drivers is different than EOL, they are still releasing security updates for Kepler (2012) for example. Pascal is still one of the most popular architectures in the steam survey at least so doubt it gets the axe, maxwell though will happen probably relatively soon

I completely disagree. Pascal being no.1 on Steam means swat for NVIDIA present and future profits and it also hurts NVIDIA to push new architecture, it adds extra wasted hours constantly contributing engineering hours in developing GRD, for it, etc.

NVIDIA is a company, not a charity and they owe no one anything, especially how old these cards are, including Pascal.

NVIDIA has already earned all the profit that it will ever receive from these legacy GPUs.

Hope for the best but these legacy owners need to prepare for the worst.

Just saying...

Agreed. Overclocking / fine tuning from the driver would be nice. AMD has it, Intel's gonna have it, but you still need third-party programs with Nvidia. When that's done, an improved GUI would be nice. Sure, don't fix what's not broken, but it's s not 1999, ffs.

Clearly, for anyone to request this over today's trial & true DEPENDABLE NVCP, well, they have not experienced how unreliable NVIDIA is in its software suites prowess headaches. e.g. GFE, GFNow, NVIDIA's forum, SHIELD TV v.9.x, abandoned GameStream, Broadcast, etc.

Yeh, you're right, a forward-thinking company should never try to innovate, develop and refine. Clearly a stupid request.??

I don't use any of those, to be honest. But if they're as unreliable as you say, then it's all the more reason for Nvidia to start working on their software package, don't you think?
