a 30 fps game with DLSS 3.0 running at 60 fps will look like it's running at 60 fps but it will feel like a 30 fps game.
It will feel even worse, because of the added frame delay. And ’jumpy/floaty’ mouse movement. Must be really nice for precision aiming, when all movements, however small and short they might be, will result in a minimum of two frames of motion.

Sounds like fancy frame interpolation, in a 60fps game it will interpolate in between frames and tell you it's 120fps...
Crazy times. Who would thought that going up with resolutions and framerates will end up being faked with AI?

This looks like it won't do much for response time. For example, if it's originally 60fps and now it's 120, you will still get 16ms frame time, not 8ms

It’s even worse. In normal 60fps the new frame can be displayed immediately. In this one, a new frame is first used to construct the ai generated extra frame, then the ai generated frame is displayed for 8ms and only after that the new actual frame is displayed. So you get frames on screen with 8ms interval, but your frametime is kind of just 24ms (plus ai calculation delay, plus whatever fps you lose because the ai shit uses some of the board power allocation). Of course some of your input is visible already in the hallucinated extra shit, but not all of it.

I actually feel bad that CDPR got bullied into supporting DLSS 3.0 for CBP2077. They have been a stellar art company. Makes me question my expectations for the upcoming Witcher 3 RTX update and future games from them.

exclusive to 4000 series !!!!!! XD
Indeed software locked to hardware.

The magic question is of course does this fall back to older DLSS when a older GPU is used, or do supported games have DLSS 3 or nothing?

Answered in earlier replies, Nvidia will support it, but I guess maybe remains possible lazy game devs might implement frame insertion and super resolution as one in game option requiring 4000 series, time will tell.
