Das Keyboard, a leader in mechanical keyboards, today announced the introduction of the Das Keyboard 6 Professional, a full-size, premium keyboard built with the modern workday in mind. The new Das Keyboard 6 Professional features white LED backlighting for working day or night, double-shot ABS keycaps with crisp inscriptions, a 2-port USB-C hub, an oversized volume knob, dedicated media keys, and an energy-saving, instant sleep button. The Das Keyboard 6 Professional comes with Cherry MX blue or brown switches. With a premium, anodized aluminum top enclosure and detachable screw-on feet made of brass, the 6 Pro is extremely durable.

"The new era of work demands high levels of collaboration, communication, and typing, as well as periods of deep, focused work and breaks to stay healthy and productive throughout the day," said Daniel Guermeur, cofounder and CEO of Das Keyboard. "We designed our 6 Pro as an essential tool for professionals that want to conquer the modern workday with comfort and efficiency."

Das Keyboard 6 Professional features include:
  • White LED Backlighting - Shines through a clean keycap font that will light up a workspace, day or night
  • Double Shot Keycaps - Customized, double shot ABS keycaps have crisp, modern inscriptions with a translucent inner layer so the keys will stand out and let users fly through their work
  • Oversized Volume Knob - Easily adjust the volume during video calls or turn the music up or down during deep-work sessions
  • Media Controls - Pause, play or skip media instantly
  • 2-Port USB-C Hub - Quickly charge or transfer data with a superspeed hub and get back to work
  • Cherry MX switches - German-engineered, gold crosspoint technology ensures high-precision electrical contact and is built to last more than 50 million keystrokes with no loss of quality
  • Sleep Control - Puts any computer to sleep instantly to save energy and the planet
  • Full-NKRO - Enables users to press multiple keys simultaneously and is great for gaming and fast typists

The keyboard is offered in either Cherry MX blue or brown switches.
  • Cherry MX brown switches have a soft, tactile bump about halfway through the keypress. The soft pressure point switch technology makes the mechanical keyboard less clicky while providing a tactile, psycho-acoustic experience.
  • The Cherry MX blue switches have a "clicky" tactile bump with an audible click that provides noticeable, acoustic feedback.

The new Das Keyboard 6 Professional is priced at $199 and is available in the US through Das Keyboard and Amazon. It will also be available in Europe through Das Keyboard Germany and internationally through other retailers at the end of September. A new keyboard announcement that's not about yet anutha toyish-looking, rainbow-lite 'em up, pukey-pie garbaggio TKL model........

I was starting to wonder if the KB makers just somehow conveniently forgot how to make full sized ones anymore...

I would have liked to see atleast 1 type A port on that keyboard to connect mouse/receiver instead of current config of type-C ports which would require an adapter.

And then those keyboard makers sell numpad for equally outrageous prices.

I still would like extra keys added to the gaping spaces were the arrow key are, sure most right handed people don't use them for gaming but god dam they could make them even programmable media keys so they could be used for both.

the keyboard cable appears to be non detachable which is crazy for a 200 board

If you don't like TKL it doesn't mean others don't like it. Some people even prefer 65% or less.

This keyboard offers me:
- ABS keycaps
- non detachable cable
- scratchy Cherry switches
Only for $199.

For this price I'd buy hot swappable keyboards and use other switches.
