Intel Core i9-13900KS Hype Train Flags off with CPU-Z Bench Leak

Shortly after its announcement along with an "early next year" launch timeline, benchmarks of the upcoming Core i9-13900KS are beginning to trickle down. The first such sees an alleged CPU-Z Bench score of 18453.4 points multi-threaded score, and 982.5 points single-threaded. We have no clue about the clock-speeds, but assuming it's running at stock settings, the multi-threaded score is around 15% higher than that of the Ryzen 9 7950X, which scores around 16000 points in the multi-threaded test at stock settings (i.e. 5.10 GHz all-core boost).

I just wish these new CPUs wouldn't need 200W+ (for cpu only) and 6GHz to give those impressive numbers, plus a $400 motherboard.

Fully stressed out (obviously not a 6GHz situation, since multicore), this chip will pull over 200W, it will probably pull 300W given ample cooling.
253W is what chips like the non S 13900K are expected to pull continously

A CPU produced in limited quantity and with 350-400w TDP will not do this. It's actually funny that someone would care about launching such a product.

Given that Zen4 doesn't move CPU-Z test performance beyond its clock speed increase, this comparison is a bit ... well, not misleading in and of itself - it's correct for CPU-Z benchmark performance, after all - but doesn't say anything about overall relative performance. For that, a comparison to a 12900K (which we in turn know how performs overall against the 7950X) would be more useful.

You know ive done a lot of quick tests using cpuz bench for testing undervolting and I noticed it is bs... always the same rarely does it it increase I wonder how many hours i wasted using it.

The best time in hardware is when there is a ping pong game between the vendors for the lead and it look like it's what we will have this fall/winter. Zen4 then Raptor Lake, Then Zen 4 X3D.

Nice time ! but i think if you are not in a rush, i would wait for Zen 4 X3D benchmark to make your buying decision.

I hope that we will have similar competition soon on the GPU side !
