ASRock is shaping up to be the first major custom-design Intel Arc "Alchemist" board partner with a footprint in the EU and North America. The company is ready with a pair of custom-design Arc A770 products based on its key gamer-focused brands. The first of these is the ASRock A770 Phantom Gaming OC. This card features a meaty triple-slot Phantom Gaming cooling solution, complete with RGB LED illumination. It should also feature the company's highest state of tuning for the A770. The next of the custom-design cards is the Arc A750 Challenger. This card features clean 2-slot, dual-fan design, and a factory-overclock. It's also likely that ASRock is extending the Challenger OC treatment to the A770.

I wonder if other AIBs will jump into the game or not. If it's only ASRock (and Acer?) that sells these cards just like with the A380, then availability will be even sadder than driver support. That would be a shame.

I would think there is a correlation between supply and demand, if demand is high enough Asrock (and Acer?) will devote a good chunk to developing these and maybe others will jump on board seeing the success.
If people in general are hesitant (like I am myself, I want more transparancy and measurable goals on that front) then demand is thus low and so will be production.

I really wanted an A770 not long ago, but now I'm hesitant as well, mainly because with a little luck (and searching of course) one can score some pretty sweet deals on an AMD card. Secondly because of the high idle power consumption. I could put up with its other quirks.

Also, today is launch day, and Arc is still nowhere to be found, not even listed. Not a great start.

Can't see any on sale even on chinese marketplaces. I still want one, but the further it goes on like that the more my enthusiasm for playing around with crap just for the sake of it wanes.

Same here. Especially when we have AMD basically begging us to buy one of their cards.

ok, that cooler design on the back is really cool - leaving such a sizeable chunk of the radiator to have fans blow air right through is awesome

That's not entirely true, the Intel and ASRock Arc A770 are listed on Newegg; the ASRock model is out of stock and the Intel model is on back order. But I don't see it listed at Microcenter or B & H.

Here in the UK, I see the Intel models listed on ebuyer for pre-order, but that's it. And no more AIBs, only ASRock?
