Alphacool Unveils Eiswolf 2 AIO and ES Block for NVIDIA RTX 4090

With the Eiswolf 2 AiO and the ES cooling block from the Enterprise Solutions series, Alphacool presents two innovative solutions for cooling Nvidia's latest graphics card. In order to dissipate the enormous waste heat of this graphics card generation in the best way possible, numerous optimizations have been made to the water cooler compared to the previous models. The fin structure has been adapted and allows a very high water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified jet plate with improved inflow engine ensures optimum distribution of the water over the cooling fins. The fully chrome-plated copper base is resistant to acids, scratches and damage. Additionally, the chrome plating provides homogeneity and shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating.

This improved cooler is now being used in Alphacool's Eiswolf All-in-One as well as Enterprise Solutions in the industrial sector. The expandable Eiswolf 2 still scores as an all-round carefree package and ensures that its user can easily take advantage of a performance-oriented GPU water cooling with digital aRGB illumination out-of-the-box. Also still included are the NexXxos ST30 360 mm radiator, the Rise Aurora 120 mm fans, the Eiswolf 2 pump top with integrated DC-LT 2 pump and the TPV hoses with quick-release coupling. The ES cooler impresses with its technical design. The positioning of the connections at the rear allows easy integration of the GPU cooler into the water loop even in the tightest server cases. The discreet material mix of carbon and chrome-plated copper makes it additionally interesting for private users who can do without aRGB lighting.

I like those kits, the DC LT2 pump is very silent, but I would use phantek T30 or Noctua A12 in place of those stock fans.

I'm waiting for RDNA 3 (the MCM architecture fascinates me) but it will either be RDNA 3 or a 4080 16GB. In France where I live, the 3080 is 950-1000EUR, the 4080 is 1470EUR, the 4090 is 2000EUR. The 3080+ option is just not worth it for me with the inflation they won't reduce their price anytime soon I think.

Seeing the 4090 temps, I don't think I will use an AIO on it, not needed, but will wait november for reviews

It's more 900-1000EUR from what I saw.
the 4070 4080 12GB is 1100EUR and would be significantly stronger, consume less wattage (with the coming winter not a bad thing) and DLSS3 ready...

Those prices need to be way lower like 700-720 for me to consider. at 900 I'd pick the 4070 and jump 40-50% performance for 200EUR, with the current inflation I'm really not expecting those prices to decrease, at least not enough

I'm kind of worried that these prices could go up, not down, if the RTX 4080 12GB won't be considerably faster - and some Nvidia's own graphs show very similar performance. And that's a 1100 EUR card!

This would be a pretty cool setup I have to admit, nice and simple too. I don't think I will ever do a custom loop, just too much hassle, also I suck at measuring things.

Got one for a 2080Ti 2 years ago. Recently the friend I gave this to told me the GPU is constantly crashing. So I took it out to examine it. This is what the AIO looks like after 2 years. And the GPU temp was over 70C constantly without OC.

Conveniently alphacool only give their AIO 2 years of warranty. So yeah I am switching this 2080Ti back to its original cooler now.

You have to change the liquid each year at least. There's a fill port in the radiator for that.

Same thing happened on my block after just a year. They replaced it but the replacement was a wrong model and I had to fight with them for over a month because the CS guy kept claiming it's the right model despite photos clearly showing otherwise and me even referencing their own official compatibility sheet. They eventually gave in after I gave them a detailed breakdown and sent the proper model but they never apologized and insisted it was only a visual difference whem the screws literally did not align and the VRMs had no contact.

I advise everyone to stay away from Alphatrash. It's not an isolated incident either, my friend had multiple AC fittings break in his loop and you can find a lot of people complaining about them online despite it not being a high volume brand like EKWB, who also get complaints but not necessarily a high % of total sales, implying the complaints are indicative of poor quality of AC. You get better Q&A with Bykski from a random aliexpress store lol, never heard of them causing any issues.

Except that is not true.
1. Alphacool rep told me that you are not supposed to empty a closed loop. You can without losing warranty but it's not required and if you develop issues you should RMA it instead of flushing the block. The AIO is marketed as maintenance free as are all closed loops.
2. Algae growth is indicative of poor coolant mix. I never had any develop in a custom loop even when I neglected flushing it.
3. The black flakes show that the radiator, in an AIO you're not supposed to take apart, was improperly flushed.
4. The corroded block shows that there is aluminium somewhere in the loop or they have spectacularly failed with the coolant mix. AC says their blocks and rads are full copper so that leaves the second option.

Their AIO is worse than most people's first custom loops. I only went with them because I wanted a maintenance free water cooler but I learned my lesson and will stick to custom loops with components from watercool, bykski and EKWB which never failed me. And Aquacomputer for coolant and pumps.

I wish all the 4090 waterblocks had terminals at the end of the card. Why not make use of the shortened pcb length instead of making an already tall card even taller?
