Somehow, I didn't notice this until now. I haven't seen a white motherboard since the Sapphire PURE.

If you consider "autoinstall" = user actively clicks YES on a dialog box, then sure...when will this misinformation end?

It doesn't install anything without user consent. Have you even used an Asus board with Armoury Crate? It doesn't work that way on Strix, TUF or ROG.

It takes a bit of digging to find the Armoury Crate setting, but that's also what the BIOS search function is for......oh yeah, Gigabyte and ASRock don't even know what that is. And AURA is smack dab at the top of the BIOS screen, disable all LEDs on the board if you want.
Hi,
Most wouldn't even read the message

Question:
Isn't it true that if you use a PCI-E 5.0 nvme M-2 SSD drive, then your GPU cannot use the PCI-E 5.0 slot at full speed and can only be used as PCI-E 4.0x16 ?
Yes its actually true because of the number of lanes coming from the 13th processors. Same is the case with 12th gen.
The pci express 5.0 lanes are either 16x or 8x8. If a pci express 5.0 ssd is to be used then we are left with 8x pci express 5.0 or x16 pci express 4.0 lanes (same bandwidth as 8x pcie5.0)

Eventually there is no exponential difference as there is no PCI-E 5.0 ready gfx available to consumers. Even if there is there won't be any noticeable difference sooner or later.

Just curious WHY oh WHY the new Z790 Chipset doesn't have at least 1x16 PCIe 5.0 lanes also...

what? I thought PCIe5 M2 + GPU was the whole point of Z790. Whats"more PCIE lanes" good for if you can't really use it?

I'm sorry, I've only used Asus boards in my builds for the past 20 years, but it's time to move on to another MB manufacturer. Quality control is not up to par anymore and there are just too many compatibility issues at core hardware levels which cannot be fixed with firmware updates. I've just recently built a few PCs for customers that have the Z690 TUF D4 board and an i7-13700K at the core. The i7-13700K on this TUF board runs 30-50% slower than it should be and Asus is aware of their mistake, but doing nothing about it. The i7-12700K actually outperforms the i7-13700K on this board. Needless to say, my customers are not happy. In contrast, I ran benchmarks with the i7-13700K on other non Asus boards and have had no issues with the performance.

They've been a great company with solid products and "OK" retailer support, but the issues we're seeing as of late are causing a lot of retailers to lose faith in the ASUS brand name, including me.
