ECS Returns to Gaming Motherboard Market with 700-series LEET Gaming

Bad branding aside, that motherboard looks interesting. No M.2 heatsinks, small-ish VRM heatsinks but all SMD tantalum capacitors on the VRM output. Also 3-digit post code in the best possible position.

And a lot of weird buttons.
Funky. Definitely not a North America release though.

At least L2 cache is now within the CPU so ECS can't put fake cache chips on the motherboard.

That's right ECS, we're never going to forget that.

Chipset-heatsink-looking-like-a-smartcard-chip aside and the fact that Gen Z and Alpha generally don't know what 'leet' is, I see a great board design and somehow gives me "old school" vibes because of its practicality and bench-testing goodies, which is saying a lot comparing to the current line of motherboards. Never thought I would say this of a motherboard that isn't either green or yellow-ish coloured.

My office had a deal with a supplier so for a time we had almost every workstation running on ECS mobos.
I also remember having to pair low end ECS mobos with high end PSUs because their mobos wouldn't last much otherwise.
I also remember dumping the supplier and the ECS mobos and replacing them with Intel and ASUS mobos.

I like it. No frills VRM sinks, physical buttons, gold plated audio jacks. Only thing that would top it off nicely would be a fixed I/O plate. Should be a good value.
