Yeah... 6 is 50% more than 4, so it should be at least 50% better!

I'll see how screwed it is soon. I've got a 7700X with some RAM and mobo arriving tomorrow. For now, I just think all current-gen CPUs (both Intel and AMD) are driven way out of their ideal spot on the efficiency curve which can be fixed with Eco mode or some tweaking, but I'll see soon enough.

Farewell build?

TG is awesome, just a bit too expensive (at least here in the UK). A 4 g tub of regular Kryonaut costs a bit above £20 on Amazon, while you can get the MX-4 in the same size for a fiver. The Kryonaut Extreme costs even more than that.

yes, farewell build. I have loads of hobbies and not enough time, a gf in a different country I been living with off and on since 2019, and we plan to get married, and life is just changing a lot for me lately. but i still want one really solid rig to game on for next 5-10 years. maybe longer considering how good FSR and DLSS are getting.

Given they pulled the Band-Aid on DDR4 support with AM5 and addition of PCI-e 5 led to bloated prices for motherboards, they were scared of blacklash from "reviewers" if even CPU cooler compatibility was killed off further pushing price for new platform(though as Louis Rossman say they should have been the full b***** which would have certainly led to better thermals on AM5 platform).

yep, another reason i went with raptor lake i got a $300 mobo for half price basically. come with pci 5 slot too. and saved me another 150 on being able to get buy with cheaper ram, can't complain that's for sure. getting a lot of bang for my buck this round.

Ah, I get it. :) Just like my AMD FX system that I sold before I moved to the UK. But then, as soon as I started earning some money here, I built another PC. There's no life without your hobby. :D

Good luck to you on the project! :toast:

i have like 5 hobbies in total now, and I love all of them. life is boring without passion my friends.

nah, now is the time to play ball, cause the quality control will be meticulously looked over.

It's funny that Mazda never sued for the name.

Precedent has established that trademarks don't apply across industries. Ex: A dairy-handling equipment company called (or selling a system called) Surge tried to get an injunction against Coca-Cola Corp. when they introduced a soda with the same name. It didn't work. Though Coke being a corporate behemoth may have had something to do with that.

He broke it while prototyping a delid tool.

if you watch the video though, he barely put any pressure at all on the 7700x that broke. i mean as far as im aware he is still not selling delid tools to the public yet, which tells me delidding ryzen is dangerous. otherwise people would be doing it in droves like they were with skylake i think it was. the 8700k i think. can't remember.

Skylake had thermal paste between the die and IHS, but Zen 4 is soldered, as far as I know.

so instead of delidding perhaps sanding the top down makes more sense, i did read some people were doing that. not sure i'd risk it personally. but AMD def missed the mark on this one.

MX-5 was generally a very slight improvement over MX-4 while being a lot more difficult to apply properly.

Hopefully with MX-6 they've rectified the issue while improving thermal conductivity even further.

And unfortunately with Ryzen 7000 CPUs delidding does 10 times better than the best thermal paste out there.
Mx5 was total shite during some and my testing.

I won't be trying mx6 until someone else proves it's worth.

As for your last comment, why, is it relevant to arctic Mx6 just why don't reply, I'm sure it would have less Todo with the OP then your last throwaway troll comments.

Read the thread, see your influence, did it help?!.

It's ugly that customers don't sue mazda for crappy vehicles that corrode like no tomorrow. Mazda produces cheap cars with extraordinarily big costs savings and poor quality..

It was a joke. I guess I should have used the "/s" (sarcasm) tag.

Only reason to delid those Ryzen CPU is for direct die cooling. Consider the Tool is 70 EU/$ and direct-die plate probably $40 EU/$, it will be expensive. I rather sand down 1.5mm for free.

I'd rather turn on Eco mode and keep the warranty.

Only if you think you can sand it evenly. It's hard to keep the proper profile for coldplate contact by hand.

Still using my trust MX-4. ;)
And you should be. ;) It's the best paste in its price range, only rivalled by way more expensive ones, like the TG Kryonaut. The MX-5 on the other hand, is utter shite.

Have you guys tried the new MX-6?

I found only this review, but seems good.

The 4g syringe is 7,59€ on Amazon. But for 10,99€ I can buy the 20g syringe of MX-4.

The MX-5 simply disappeared. Wtf!? Was radioactive? Carcinogenic? We'll never know. The MX-2 is still there.
