NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Could See a Tight January 5 Launch Schedule

NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti performance-segment graphics card could see a January 5, 2023 launch (the day on which you can buy one), according to a Wccftech report. The card will be unveiled to the masses on January 3, and reviews of the card could go live on January 4, before product-availability the next day. This would mean that reviewers could get the card well in advance, and would probably be testing it over the Christmas break in order to meet the review date, before flying off to the 2023 International CES, which opens to the public on January 5, and to the press a couple of days earlier.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is reportedly a rebadged RTX 4080 12 GB, which was supposed to launch alongside the RTX 4080 16 GB on November 16; before NVIDIA pulled the plug on the SKU in the face of backlash on social media and the press over its controversial naming that could confuse buyers, given its significantly different hardware specs to those of the RTX 4080 16 GB. With the first batch of RTX 4080 12 GB cards probably already boxed and ready to ship, if not shipped already, NVIDIA is issuing re-branding guidelines to its board partners, so they could do their best at pasting stickers, a template of which is below. It remains to be seen if NVIDIA sticks to the $900 MSRP for the SKU.

Sense of Perspective : That moment you realise they could rebadge it yet again to the RTX 4060Ti and lower the price to £500, and it would still be 3x more than what I paid for my 'also 192-bit & 290mm2' GTX 1660 2 years ago...

Now I can spend it elsewhere! You've managed to confirm with two high end offerings that the rest of the stack is (also) going to be completely pointless to look at. I want to thank Huang for his upfront clarity on this matter.

I will probably wait for 5070, may be more energy efficient and maybe with 8-pin power connectors (one can only hope...).
For now my 2070 Super does still the job for the games I play.
Or I wait till GTA VI is out.

Applying some new stickers on the box is a quick & easy fix. But I wonder how they re-badge the cards (backplate & frontplate)?

Would be funny if they dremel it out & super glue new numbers on it.

I wonder if Nvidia refunded some money to their AIBs because they'll have to go back and fix shrouds and backplates with a 4070Ti branding instead of the 4080.

I also wonder if other AIBs are thinking: Why the hell did we not jump ship like EVGA?

nVidia's marketing is so strong even fake reviewers fall for it.

On a launch of the 40 series so pathetic with problems on the power adapter cable and 12VHPWR connector, models completely out of the price range for performance like the RTX 4080 16g and directly a card advertised as RTX 4080 12GB that is more an RTX 4060ti than anything else at 899 dollars, now renamed as RTX 4070ti to make then a 799 dollars card it is absolutely understandsile that EVGA decided to stop producing this garbage

$900 for this is insane, it goes without saying. But what does this mean for the rest of the stack? Should we expect 4060(Ti) at around $700?

At this rate, the 1060 may very well be the last video card I'll ever buy. I don't really have time to play games anymore, I was buying GPUs more in an effort to support ongoing development. But everything that I do can be served by an IGP. Easily.
