The Core product line takes shape with the new coolers in the usual high quality, excellent performance and functional design language. The heart of the copper cooler is an assembly of connector terminal and cooler, which is milled from one piece of copper. The fine workmanship combined with the hard and resistant chrome plating of the entire copper cooler meet the highest quality standards. The brass G1/4" threads integrated on both sides, also chrome-plated, stand out visually striking from the terminal and are one of the key points of the new design language that will be present in all products of the Core series.

The aluminium backplate matched to the design together with the terminal forms a single unit. It convinces with clear and homogeneous optics on the back of the cooler. The individually controllable lighting consists of digitally addressable RGB LEDs and enables the even and colorful illumination of the entire cooler.

The technical advancement is also evident in the water supply to the jet plate and in the optimization of the jet plate itself. In cooperation with board partners, this was completely redesigned on the basis of many simulations and practical tests. The fin thickness and spacing were reduced, the cooling surface was increased and the water flow to the main components with the highest heat dissipation was optimized.

The new Alphacool Core water coolers will be available for more high-end graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia in the future. The coolers for Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 Reference Design and Founders Edition graphics cards are now available for pre-order in the Alphacool Online Shop.

So that's the non-acrylic I/O terminal Alphacool was talking about. Looks good. :)

Please explain. "The fin thickness and spacing were reduced, the cooling surface was increased and the water flow to the main components with the highest heat dissipation was optimized."
Please explain. Where is the difference in fin thickness?

Looks better than they're usual blocks which have ridiculously complicated fluid paths connecting multiple copper blocks (in what looks like an attempt to keep expenses down at all costs and save as much copper as possible)...see below, it has three separate copper cold plates...and they have even more convoluted fluid paths on other cards...

@Gan77
The statement refers to all components to be cooled and all components in this respect. Bottom thickness, water flow ect... the fins are only a small part of the whole. They haven't changed from the last new Aurora series models for the RTX 4XXX and RX 7900 cards.

@ZoneDymo
Will be also available for all 7900XTX cards. XT not sure yet, we will see. In the past, for example 6900 cards, the requests for blocks was very low in compare to Nvidia. So, depends on the requests we get.

@AnarchoPrimitiv
To be honest... there were a lot of people who liked this design very much. But it is more complicated to manufacture than just using an O-ring.

Did you benchmark the new and old core? What efficiency improvement can be expected? New blocks look great!

I think that will be more a part of the reviewers to check this. I mean... can tell a lot and if the tests are showing something different, because they have an other testsetup, people will think that we lie. Or that we write to much marketing blabla. I don`t like that.

This new design is definitely a step in the right direction. I never liked Alphacool blocks because the aesthetic looked outdated and cheap.
Now this seems like a worthy EK competitor so I'm looking forward to seeing some temperature and flow comparisons.

Question then about bottom thickness: is there a difference in thickness between the fins and the blocks die mating surface between the new core series and the new Eisblock Aurora? Really would just like to know whether I should wait for the suprim core variant to get better cooling.

Sorry, but i will not explain all technical points of this cooler. The competition is reading along and we don't have to tell everyone all the tricks we use. Most of the things you don't see, like the exact cooler bottom thickness and a few other little things.

@JD100
Thanks :)

While I appreciate that, I am really just asking for a yes or no between your own two newest products. I don't need specifics down to the fractional mm lol. I don't care about aesthetics and only about performance, so knowing whether the Core offers a lower thickness compared to the new Eisblock Aurora is somthing that would literally change my buying decision between those two.

The Aurora coolers for the RTX 4XXX and RX 7900 series are almost identical on the technical side, i.e. in terms of cooler base, fins and water flow. There are only minor differences on the terminal side, but they are not significant. So we have made the technical turnaround for both product lines and improved them compared to the Aurora cooler for the RTX 3XXX and RX 6XXX series. The general statements do not refer to the difference between Aurora and Core, but to the cooler generation that we have made for the RTX 3XXX and RX 6XXX series.
So the Core cooler offers no real performance advantage over the current Aurora series for the current cards. The advantages of the Core cooler are, besides the solid brass terminal, more cosmetic in terms of appearance.

In general, however, we always improve coolers in details. We have never used one technology for an entire graphics card generation, but have always improved small details in later new coolers. For example, the next step will be that we will include the Apex thermal compound with 17W/mk instead of the Subzero thermal compound with 16W/mk. This will be a flying change. With the RTX 3XXX generation, we have adjusted the cooler bottom and the water paths several times. Just compare the Reference cooler for the 3080/3090 with the cooler for the 3090TI. You can quickly see that we have already done a lot of things differently for the 3090TI, which clearly goes in the direction that we see with the current Aurora and Core coolers for the RTX 4XXX and RX 7900 generation.
We are generally not standing still in this area.

Don't look at me haha, I don't have a GPU available for water block testing sadly.

I've just purchased an Inno3d RTX4090 Ichill Frostbite, that comes with a version of this cooler if I'm not mistaken.
The only review I've seen about this product was the Der8auer one.

It seems a great product and really good looking, thats why I bought it. But in the review he got some areas that the water flow was not optimal. I've seen some other similar reports. Could It be because of the vertical position? Or incorrect air displacement? Any idea?

Anyway, looking forward to test the card, should be here in a couple of days. I'm sure I'll enjoy your cooler.

You do not need a large flow of water in this corner. That he has an air bubble here is of course annoying and should not be. I'm not sure exactly what the reason is. We test the cooler in the same position, we have not noticed it so far. But yes, we have looked at it and we also have feedback from others that it is difficult for some to vent the fan completely at this point. We are working on improving that for the next coolers.

Looks like the new Core series is projected to be better than the Aurora series for the 4090, correct? Is there an ETA when the Core series for reference cards will be available to purchase?
If this info was published and I missed it, I apologize.
