There isn't really a proper solution for the power connector position. Where ever it's placed, someone will have issues with it.

The only place it won't be in the way for anyone is next to the HDMI port, via a wall adapter

I have a proper solution: why not just leave overly expensive, big and power hungry GPUs alone, and buy something that one actually needs? I know, having a million FPS in every game with ultra graphics and RT on is nice, and the epeen has to grow, but c'mon, people... let's be practical.

they kept the same cooler thats on the 4080 which means the same struggle to fit it in a sff case. This is supposed to be a midrange card so thats dissapointing.

eh its part of the hobby i suppose. why do folks spend $1K on an RC car? or just as much on a set of golf clubs? i wouldnt spend that much on those unless my life was on the line yet some do it anyway. my only justification is how long u plan on keeping it. if you have the cash and plan on using it for a few years then may be worth it.

Oh, but i'll just settle with a RTX 4070 Ti next year.

Should be a nice upgrade for my GTX 1070.

Some of the EVGA models may have the the power connector on the side instead of the top. Not sure why other AIB are not doing this, like Sapphire who did this on some of their AMD GPUs.

The huge air coolers "missing from that image" tend to limit where the power can be without another issue appearing
Beside they are already long as hell now adding cables everyone would have to get a condominium case just for the gpu

Of course it's a hobby, but that doesn't mean you have to overspend on things that you don't need. If a $500 graphics card gives you everything you need, then why spend double or triple the amount?

No, it's not. You just have to use your brain a bit more when selecting components and designing their cooling. Look at my SFF build log (in my signature) if you're interested.

Yes. You need a card that plays your games. Tick. If you want it to do it at 4K 120 FPS with RT Ultra, that's a different story. Maybe we, first world people should stop being so spoiled, and look at the practical value of things. Spending $500 to play your games is justifiable. Spending double or triple the amount just to up the resolution one notch, or to turn RT on, is questionable at best, imo.

Mixed feelings with this card. I want to like it, but it is so cut down. And that power connector.. I dunno.

Sadness is knowing there is no EVGA model coming.

That power connector is part of why I'm happy I didn't wait for the 4070. I'm not big on early adopting anyways, I passed on 12vHPWR just like I passed on e-cores and DDR5.

I still need another GPU to replace the 980 Classified that is in service with my sons rig. 4070 Ti is pretty much the same as what I paid for my 3070 Ti.

The sad part of it all, is that there is no evga card this time around
