Alphacool Intros Eisbecher Pump+Reservoir Combo with New Apex VPP Pump

With the Eisbecher Aurora reservoir in combination with the VPP Apex pump, Alphacool presents another stylish reservoir/pump combination. The combination of the classy Eisbecher with the elegant, powerful VPP Apex D5 pump results in a setup that should not be missing in any performance-oriented water cooling system.

The tube of the reservoir is made of real glass. The digitally addressable RGB LEDs in the pump top provide brilliant illumination and beautiful light reflections. A special ambient highlight is the illuminated fountain effect of the riser tube. The Apex VPP is a powerful pump that is compatible with the most popular D5/VPP tops and reservoir tanks. With the 4-pin fan connector, the speed of the pump can be read and controlled by PWM signal. Power is supplied to the Apex VPP via the SATA connector. The maximum head of 4.25 m and the potential flow rate of 340 L/h are clear arguments for using the pump in combination with the Eisbecher Aurora reservoir.



The included mounting kit allows the Eisbecher Aurora Reservoir with VPP Apex pump to be placed freestanding in the case or mounted on a radiator as well as free fan locations. The fill volume of 180ml or 360ml is more than sufficient for any water loop.

Is it just me...or does it look like alphacool "borrowed" the design language of Watercool's Heatkiller Tube reservoir (pictured below)?

If you really think Watercool was the first Brand with these four bars at a resveroir, I have to disappoint you. This is nothing new and has been around for a very very long time. You can only go over bars or a screw mount on the tube. Alternatively, a U-bracket, but that sounds easier than it is.

I was just commenting on how they look very similar, not making claims on which company was first with this design ....sorry, I didn't know my observation would get somebody worked up.

I didn't get excited. The comparison just comes up again and again and it is often claimed or presented that Watercool was the first with the design and everyone copies it. Here I have to admit, that really gets on my nerves a bit because it is simply wrong.
But do not feel attacked by me here and I am never personal in such things. If I get personal, then you notice that very clearly. But I only do that when someone makes concrete false statements. That was not the case here.

Well, You clearly stated, that it looks like Company 1 "borrowed" the design from Company 2 - if that is not claiming which of these 2 were first, then...

And it's true that it's an old design and both Watercool and Alphacool had it in their porfolio for a while now, here we can just see it combo'ed with their new pump.

There will be a lot more new things coming next year that we will implement in a completely different way than before. You have to go forward. We have been working for a long time to change a lot of things internally in our company in order to be able to launch something completely new. The innovations will not only be of an optical nature, but also of a technical nature. The first innovation was the Core GPU cooler. There will be much more to follow slowly from around March next year. New CPU coolers, new expansion tanks, new radiators, new fans and much more. We will take little from the old, except things to which we have generally received positive feedback.

I forgot to mention this to @EddyAlphacool but the biggest issue with these mounts is that they only work facing one direction, you cant rotate them at all (so the fittings always face away from the radiator/fans they're attached to)

the pumpblock has alternate screw holes, but they don't fit the fan mounts to use them

Definitely chuck feedback on the pile about making it so we can rotate the pump/res combos to whatever orientation we need, not locked to one of four sides please!
