Tame as far as some of these builds go but this is mine. The basis for this build is my original PC build from 2011. It was what I could get deals on at the time. I had always intended to do more case mods and than the cable routing holes, but never had the time and this eventually became a secondary system as technology progressed. When I started this project, I intended to keep it mostly original. I do still have the original Antec HCG-620 PSU, but decided against reclaiming it from its current role where it is still running 24/7 and picked up the used CXM. I also cleaned and repasted my original XFX 6850 and intended to use that as the GPU, but ran across the GTX 580 for $30 and figured why not. The Antec Three Hundred had been subjected to light mods over the years, not all of which were well done. This time around, I added the window I had always intended to add. I almost put a PSU shroud in but decided against it. I then stripped it down, cleaned, prepped, primed and painted. I should have spent more time on the surface prep and sanding but it turned out OK. I still had the Kingwin blue LED case fans I bought from Microcenter in 2011, but decided to stay with the Arctic fans for now. I might pick up some blue LED Yate Loons at some point, or some Blue Cold Cathode tubes. The guts are unchanged. Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 Rev. 1.1 board with an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T. Currently overclocked to 3.5 Ghz. It will do more, but not really necessary and it runs cooler this way. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus, w/ Arctic P12's in Push Pull. Memory is a G.Skill Ares DDR3-1600 CL8 8GB kit that was added when I made the jump to Windows 7 originally. I went with a fresh install of Windows XP Professional SP3 32bit on the Team 480GB SSD. I actually used the copy I had originally since the SATA drivers were already slipped into the install, but then I had to use the telephone activation. That process still works lol. Games installed. Runs everything beautifully. Far Cry, Star Wars KOTOR, Battlefront, C&C, even Crysis runs good.
