I cannot wait for someone to review this and post response-time, overshoot, and refresh compliance results.

I'm getting my popcorn ready to see how the 7ms of current top-shelf, ultrafast IPS panels respond to that much overdrive, because sure, the "on paper" rise time of 2-3ms from 10-90% looks impressive, but when it carries on to 130% of the value you asked for, it looks like utter garbage.

No wonder RTINGs recommend not using the fastest response times on these panels. You can have the right image after 7ms the right way, or the horrific nightmare-fuel way. Whichever option you choose, it's taking 7ms!

Before the Odyssey G7 came along, Dell were really the only company other than Asus to bring a VA panel's black response time down to reasonable values. Everyone else was serving up numbers in the 30-45ms range for the critical 0-20 transition, which is your classic "VA black smear"

16.9ms was outstanding black performance for zero overshoot back in 2019.

Dell has good engineers who are capable of making high-quality products, but they also have the worst kind of margin-obsessed management you can imagine, constantly hamstringing their engineers efforts. There was a former dell engineer who commented on one of Gamers Nexus' alienware reviews, and that shit was heartbreaking to read, man. Dell's management is obsessed with making these products as cheap as they can possibly get away with, and they absolutely refuse to let the engineers use a new chassis design.

Dell seems to go penny-pinching in wrong areas, if they start using standard components they can save a tone of money which they currently are spending on too many proprietary eWaste(kinder way of putting things) components. Michael Dell and his management seem to have their head up the rearside for far too long now.

I have been using their Ultrawide panels for a good while now. I had the 34 Ultrawide when it first came out about 4-5 years ago. I am on the 38 Ultrawide currently. Dell/Alienware monitors are generally top notch and go on sale pretty often if you look out for them.

I certainly can't fault the Alienware monitor I bought years ago it's only a shitty 60Hz TN with fluro backlighting but it hasn't skipped a beat in 10 years but those Aurora cases need to go they're nothing but a over engineered massive heat trap that use proprietary mobos and PSU's that can't be used in any other case and as GN's Steve has said multiple time they're just a warranty with some ewaste attached and for the money Alienware could be doing so much better than they are
