It's exponential. The graph is derivative of an exponential function it's not a linear growth. Who else who doesn't understand how math works want to out themselves?
The point has gone so far over your head that it's reached orbit.

If you take the derivative of a curve containing points y² y⁴ y⁶ y⁸ it becomes 2, 4, 6, 8. Now before ppl chime in and say that's linear, it's the same line just being looked at from a different angle (perspective). Who said that the base number was significant in the first place and not a tiny number? Like 2 or ½?
Considering the total lack of data on what Intel is plotting how do you know it's a derivative of an exponential function?

For the record I hope Intel makes a good go of it in the discrete GPU market -- it's about time the duopoly got some competition.

That's what they are claiming, for their claim to be true that would logically be the case.

Cool beans, wasn't interested in beating an obviously dead horse. You can go ahead and give ir a few kicks for me if you'd like. Talking about how graph of a straight line can also represent an exponential function on the other hand.

But in that case, shouldn't it be 2, 3, 4, 5, etc? As in x^3 x^4 x^5, etc...

Possibly, whoever made the graph may have just left those off, if there isactually data behind the graph.

QFT: "if there is actually data behind the graph". The data is probably statistical wishful thinking.
