Amid the digital age, innovation is king. Since the groundbreaking invention of the computer, society has taken leaps and bounds to evolve and innovate - developing optimized prototypes resulting in the sleek and compact systems popularized today. However, one aspect of the modern computer has yet to catch up with modern improvements, until now. One company is on a mission to bring forth an evolved version of the keyboard to bring forth a new era of innovation for engineers, gamers, and tech enthusiasts alike.

Introducing the GrabShell Keyboard by dotBravo Co - the transformable, fully programmable, mechanical, compact, handheld keyboard that is changing the face of the modern computing experience. Envisioned by engineers, for engineers, gamers, IT professionals, coders, and everyone in between, the GrabShell keyboard combines the best of both worlds to create the perfect transforming keyboard for any situation.

Whether standing up and walking around while typing and studying screens or taking a call or sitting diligently at a desk with the keyboard flat, the GrabShell keyboard gives people the technology, flexibility, and versatility to take virtual control over their productivity and user experience.

This new keyboard was created to co-exist with the new virtual world. Fully programmable, mechanical, and equipped with a joystick, trackball, and device-switching function, the GrabShell keyboard is compatible to be used both wired and wireless setups—and it is time to grab and hack the world.

"Introducing the world's rarest transformable keyboard - the perfect device for engineers who value a sense of ownership. Not only is it highly customizable and programmable for optimal usability, but it also integrates various features like joysticks and trackballs into one convenient package. But the real showstopper is the opening mechanism, which is sure to impress even the most skeptical of onlookers. If you're looking for a unique and impressive keyboard that can do it all, look no further than our transformable keyboard."

Through proof of concept, dedication to innovation, and unwavering commitment to revolutionizing the modern computer experience, dotBravo Co's purpose-driven vision has come to fruition with the GrabShell Keyboard available on February 22. For a limited time only, dotBravo will be offering a special pre-order price of only $299 including shipping (US only), a $100 discount from the regular price of $399 (excluding shipping). Inventory will not last long, so hurry while supplies last!

No music or anything in the demo video? Seems like 3d printed garbage. I dont really see this taking off.

Better? They don't really show how you use it though. The lack of audio is indeed weird though.
It's from a Japanese company, so I doubt the final product will be 3D printed.

This could be an interesting Gamepad of sorts, if the design was a little more ergonomic when "unfolded".

Just like movies don't need woke remakes, some things don't need "innovation" or reinventing.
I can hardly see an engineer liking this thing WHY DO THEY INSIST SO MUCH LOL

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o

seconded...

imho it would make for an interesting gamepad with lots and lots of possibility ... although day to day keyboard ... hum, not that much

i use a Logitech MX Ergo and a Razer Tartarus V2 (about the only Razer product i ever owned, aside their early product like the Boomslang, Copperhead and Diamondback Magma. that did not take a dump on me ... color me impressed ... i blame them, although for the "death" of the Belkin n52e anyway ) which kinda give the same feeling (more separated, less buttons and the joystick is not analog, although not bad either when using the thumbstick addon on it )

Damn this. I want "Minority Report" style typing on glass, LOL. This just looks like a faster way to get carpal tunnel, especially for older gamers.

I do 'get' the 'idea' of having user inputs on the back of an HID, but ever since the 2nd PSP's rear touch panel, the entire concept seems un-intuitive and awkward. ie. 'stupid'
-years gone by, I get a Steam Deck. Yup, inputs on the back/underside are at least as un-intuitive and awkward as I thought they might be.

This thing seems like it's really only meant for those that are working on it, or have had a similar idea.
Good for them*, but I don't see this product as an improvement for myself (or the vast majority of users/gamers)

*No, seriously. Good for them.
There's been dozens of ideas I've had (or seen in passing) over the years I'd love to see made into a product. Fact was, there was little-to-no market for them, and only I and a few others would even truly 'find value in' it.

It's an ergonomic design that doesn't force your shoulders inwards and shapes the keys to reduce resistance on your fingers/ligaments?
