In a report made by Pulse News, the media source claims that Samsung is supposedly forming a particular group to develop a custom CPU IP that is not based on the Arm's stock Cortex design. Apparently, this will allow Samsung to have CPUs to power smartphones and laptops, internally referring to these processors as "Galaxy Chips." The sources noted that AMD's senior developer, responsible for CPU development at team red, is leading the group and supposedly making these new chips. However, while not using the Arm IP, the company likely planned to continue using Arm ISA.

Today, the company issued a statement for Tom's Hardware: "A recent media report that Samsung has established an internal team dedicated to CPU core development is not true. Contrary to the news, we have long had multiple internal teams responsible for CPU development and optimization, while constantly recruiting global talents from relevant fields." While the answer was clear, it didn't respond if the company plans to make a custom Arm-based core. Samsung's LSI division has been designing hardware for a long time, which is no secret. The new rumor suggests that it may be a custom IP in question and not modified cores coming from Arm this time. That yet remains to be seen, as the source notes that we could see these designs hit the market in 2027.

Exynos is an utter fail thus far. Even if done right, ARM is still not a cure for all. And Apple is not sleeping at all, not one bit.

Samsung has persisted with Exynos for long enough, they might as well go full retard and fail in another CPU-related way too!

For once I hope Samsung is telling the truth. How many times can you flog a dead horse before admitting defeat. Crapnyos should have ensured they never try to do their own SoC ever again.
