INTERCEPTOR: INTRODUCING UPDATE 4.2 - Venture to forsaken Sentinel worlds in update 4.2, INTERCEPTOR! Explore corrupted planets, fight a legion of challenging new robotic guardians, hijack their technology, steal their ships, harvest their resources, destroy their freighters, and much, much more! It's been lovely to watch our players enjoying what Fractal (our first No Man's Sky update of 2023) had to offer and it's been thrilling to watch you all cruising around in your shiny new Utopia Speeders and filling up your Wonders Catalogues with your latest discoveries.

Barely six weeks later and we are delighted to launch another major update for No Man's Sky, and it's one of our largest in recent memory. We're calling Interceptor, with a brand new class of incredibly varied Starship, a bunch of new gameplay features, new world variants and a ton of new content! The ever-present tyrants of universe enforcement, the Sentinels, have become prey to a corruption that is spreading through their factions. Only the bravest Travellers will dare venture to forsaken Sentinel worlds to investigate. Those that do, however, will find abandoned encampments to explore, intriguing crystals to harvest and, for the most persistent, the blueprints for a hitherto undiscovered Sentinel Interceptor starship which come in a huge variety of models.

Obtaining the Interceptor for your own fleet will not be easy. The mission to recover the secret Sentinel equipment and turn this stolen technology back against the horde is fraught with danger, not least because the Sentinels have been developing advanced defence and attack technologies which they are not shy of deploying against any puny threats to their dominance.

The rewards are substantial though. Aside from the Interceptor itself, there is the prospect of securing a brand new weapon - the "Hijacked Laser" - and a unique backpack - the "Aeron Turbojet".

As you may expect, we anticipate a fair amount of heavy combat as Travellers go toe-to-toe with their long-time adversaries at closer quarters than ever before. That's why Interceptor comes with a large number of quality of life combat improvements, not least the opportunity to see what happens when a Sentinel freighter explodes under your attack!

As is now customary, a No Man's Sky update comes with a huge range of other additions and improvements to almost every other area of the game. Players can discover what's new by downloading Interceptor today. We are really excited to bring Interceptor to our players, but there's plenty more to come from our tiny team in 2023.

Our journey continues.

I played the game for maybe 40-50 hours when it released and I found entertainment in it. I really liked when someone released a mod to allow low flying on planets so you could fly through ravines and under rock bridge formations (I believe Hello Games eventually adopted this and allowed low flying).....going about scanning new lifeforms, naming them, naming planets and the overall flying around was enjoyable.

I got my money's worth out of the game even though most people that played it or just from reading reviews believed the game was incomplete based on what was shown and what was actually released.

It's been 7 years or so since the game released and they're still updating and adding to it, that's impressive. I tried playing the game again a couple of years ago and it played differently than the vanilla release, I had to relearn how to play the game and after a few hours I felt more bothered by needing to relearn things and I haven't played it since. However, seeing as how they actually have co-op play functional and from what I can find in reviews about it it could be fun!. My brother got a copy of the game and we're going to try co-op in No Man's Sky sometime in the near future, maybe after we finish playing around in Valheim or maybe after we finish Gotham Knights (which isn't that good of a game, if you ask me - it pales in comparison to the Batman Arkham games).

I also feel like playing it, as it reminds me of spore although it is stylistically different. Anyway, currently I just have the patience to sit down to play strategy games or a really fun game 10/10

let me that content additions have been free so far, that may change someday(but i doubt it ever will). after almost 700 hours into the game there is a lot of content I still missed out on trying. dThis is so9mething I do want to try out, to steal a freighter even.

I don't think they would dare ask for any money for their DLCs, not after all that mess on premiere. If they did, there would be an immediate rage out from the customers.

I do applaud them for all the content they brought to the game throughout those years, but it's only fair after the festival of lies they did before the release.

With all the stuff they add, they haven't dropped the price of the game since it released. It still sells for the initial release price of $59.99. However, there are a few times a year the game does go on sale for 50% off. I snagged a copy on GoG when it was 50% for my brother during the winter sale on GoG so we can see what it's like for coop gameplay. If you really want to try the game, but you're put off by the $59.99 price, pick it up when it goes on sale for $29.99. Which, by chance, right now the game is on sale on GoG for $29.99.

Same, after watching the next biographical video portraying the hype, more hype, even more hype, the fall, deep fall, death threats - due to high expectations, followed by death threats due to huge disappointments... And then the drama was set (so much - that it's likely we'll see an actual Biographical movie inspired by this events), so much drama... But hey, by now it's well known it became a success... eventually, aka - the rise....

PS. The saying (or meme) - "small indie company" while making referrals about the big guys (Blizzard Entertainment, Riot, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, etc) - was so fitting for Hello Games (as if they were actually used as inspiration for that meme).
