In Win launches its Foldable POC Mini-ITX Tower - the latest iBuildiShare series case you can shape yourself! In Win Development Inc. DIY PC builders of all ages can assemble a Mini-ITX enclosure from this vibrant modular kit by actually bending and shaping each panel. Stuff It with Hardware!
This compact enclosure keeps desk space in mind but maintains compatibility with larger hardware. The dedicated GPU chamber can effectively separate the heat, generated by graphics cards from the rest of the system. POC even includes a specialized PCI-Express 4.0 riser cable specially designed for this setup.

POC's customizable triangular vent tabs on the side panels allow users to adjust the ventilation as they see fit. An In Win LUNA AL120 addressable RGB fan is included in the package to enhance cooling. Side-mounted handles are provided for easy transportation once assembled. @Hailie - I've been waiting for someone to imitate their case since I first read about them.
I 'get it': Small companies often are over-burdened by overheads and BOM costs vs. bigger, well established companies. Sadly, that still doesn't change how a prospective customer sees things.

I somehow don't at all feel bad seeing a 'kickstarted/indie' project that refuses to even attempt to lower prices to an attractive/competitive level, get copied.
(Considering, that I have an idea for a PC chassis, and would like to eventually sell it... we'll see if Karma bites me in the ass for this one.)

It'd be another story if Teenage.engineering's case was brand new on the block; I remember reading about them at least 2 years ago.
(my mental association with them is that they make 'cost-optimized designs' and sell them at above what most would be willing to pay, to retain a 'boutique' image)
Plus, they can always keep their pricing, and position themselves as some kind of Premium OG. (edit: they lowered the price, and have unique features vs. InWin. They are now a literal "premium option" for an ikeacase)

No worries.
I did actually go look, and realized they had lowered their price, but was still spendy.

I also discovered that they use 1.0mm aluminum instead of InWin's 0.8mm SECC (pretty mild steel). Aluminum is always the sexier choice
Also, the design of the aluminum Teenage.engineering case might be better for EMI/RFI if you're doing sciency or audio work.

So, there are actual reasons to choose the Teenage.engineering case over InWins. The (now much more reasonable) price premium, actually has a reason; they already are the Premium OG (as I had put it).


It came to me later:
Teenage.engineering was probably trying to edge out chassis that start in the thouasands of dollars.
The name of the company, the marketing lingo, along with the materials choice and limits on the gap in any area for ventilation... They wanted to make a 'budget' version of a mini/entry-level Mil-Industrial ITX chassis. (I'm only aware of such chassis due to running across some in unrelated research, recently.)

The two cases are only similar in concept.
After my original negative post, I looked into their Computer-1 case. It's definitely built better, and with more features. $95 is probably just what InWin thinks is marketable vs. the singular other option, Teenage.engineering.
TBH, I want to see more ikeacase computer cases. Like you, I want reasonably priced options; that'll (typically) come from competition.

Given the shape of the case, it would actually be impossible. They would have to go with a completely different case design to let the GPU fit in the motherboard slot. There are other cases like that if you want, this is a different kind of case.

I would love case like In win 101c or Lian Li O11 Air Mini but with an option of building it yourself instead of the usual already built.

Reason behind this thinking is shipping cost, try to buy a computer case from overseas... The shipping cost is more expensive than the case it self.

Apart from the terrible colour schemes and questionable stability of this fold-up chassis, I rather like the idea. Personally, I would stick with more solid ITX cases though, such as DAN A4, DAN C4, Ghost S1, FormD T1, Meshlicious etc., to name but a few.

I dig it a lot, and the colours too! Cyberpunk yellow- yes please!, Tron-blue - count me in!

I find origami art fascinating and when Inwin presented the S-frame, I was blown away: a single piece of metal bent 14 times or so. No rivets, no bolts. Masterpiece IMO.

And if you can fit into the "flat packaging" concept of Ikea, your shipping costs will definitely drop for this item. Not enough entries in this area, so keep them comin.

Idea is nice, but God, that is ugly case whatsoever. With normal colors and design... Maybe it would be much, much more interesting.
Still, price will kill it.

In win started with decent cases now this is clearly cash in time, tat for this price, I wouldn't pay 20/40 on Ali express for similar in a week either, , but I could.
