EK Launches Reinforced EPDM Tubing for the EK Pro Line

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is expanding its soft tubing portfolio by releasing a new tubing option from the EK Pro line. The new EK-Pro Tubing Reinforced EPDM, as the product name suggests, are soft water-cooling tubes made from reinforced EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber).

This durable matte black tubing is designed to withstand harsh conditions for very long periods of time. It offers a truly exceptional lifespan as it can resist UV, ozone, and heat exposure for many years, while its thick rubber walls prevent the coolant from evaporating.



EK offers two tubing dimensions, both of which can be purchased "per meter" to match your needs and desires:

• EK-Pro Tubing Reinforced EPDM - 6/12 mm
• EK-Pro Tubing Reinforced EPDM - 10/17 mm

This tubing can be used at ambient temperatures of up to +80°C (+176°F) and with coolant temperatures of up to +100°C (+212°F). It is perfect for applications that require maximum flexibility and high abrasion resistance.

EK-Pro Tubing Reinforced EPDM is validated with MegaCrimp (-40 to 20) and GlobalSpiral Plus (-24).

Unlike most PVC and PUR tubing, this high-quality EPDM rubber tubing from EK ensures long-lasting operation and doesn't suffer from a plasticizer leaching effect that can cause blockage (gunking) in your liquid cooling loop. It is guaranteed to be hassle-free even in the long run, which is something other PVC or PUR tubings cannot offer.

I was going to say the same thing. pop into your local auto or hydraulic repairs shop and pick up some hose for cheap. Some shops might even have a tub full of scraps in the back that might have the right sizes and lengths of hose that are reusable. Maybe they could let you have for free or a price of a beer.

I'm looking at the braiding in the pictures, but I can't see what you mean. What's wrong with the braiding?

OMG just go to your local car parts or hydraulic repair shop and get real hoses like "Gates" ones for waaaaay less money.But if you are from the ones buying Audiophile pure copper USB and Ethernet cables you know what just buy the EK hoses and don't bother.

The only thing EK does not offer. They do not sell off their quick disconnects unless you purchase the complete - kit. I believe the kit is over priced.

Has anyone ever had any issues with there current tubing? I use the current tubing in my last system with quick disconnects and a manifold. I have never had an issue with one tube. Not one.

The only thing I really wonder is about the installation of some kind??? Is there anything that keeps the coolant cool?

I am thinking out loud.

If your loop needs this (reinforced) tubing, you are doing something very wrong. Reinforced EPDM tubing is for high-pressure, high-temperature applications. PC watercooling is neither of those.

EK's ZMT tubing is 3/8" (10mm) inner diameter, 5/8" (16mm) outer diameter, which is $216 for 100ft, not $50. And that is not reinforced.

The reinforced tubing is $536 for 100ft. They don't sell 1m lengths but if I interpolate from 5ft, that comes to $23 for 1m which google tells me is around 20 euros. In other words, EK is cheaper.

The only benefit I sense - if the inner reinforcement helps to reinforce when the tubing is cut. To keep it nice and clean. Personally I have never had this issue, but it is the only thing I can think of.
