In February, we brought a preview of PC Game Pass to 40 new countries for the first time ever. The response was incredible. Thank you to all the players who jumped in to test the experience and help us shape the preview. New members looking to join PC Game Pass can head to PC Game Pass website to learn more about local pricing as well as how to sign up.

To celebrate the launch, new members will receive a special welcome offer for their first three months for a limited time. Those who were a part of our Insider Program will receive two free months of PC Game Pass membership, with no further action needed, as a thank you for helping us shape the experience and being one of the first PC Game Pass members in your country. This will be available directly in member's accounts in the coming days.

Once you've joined PC Game Pass, the best place to jump in is with the Xbox app on PC. With the Xbox app you can browse games, play PC titles, and connect and chat with friends on devices. PC Game Pass gives players immediate access to a library of hundreds of PC games on Windows including new Xbox Game Studios releases on day one, iconic Bethesda games, an EA Play membership, and member-only benefits in Riot Games like League of Legends and Valorant. You can jump in and play games like Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Age of Empires IV, FIFA 22, and more today. And new games are being added all the time, including games coming soon on day one like Minecraft Legends on April 18, Redfall on May 2, and Starfield on September 6.

Hi,
I'm positive Ukraine is not caring to much about game pass they have their hands full of more important worries
Some in Russia might be sad no game pass though.

I really tried to like Gamepass. When I upgraded to Windows 11 I had to re-download the entire 128 GB of Forza 7 and lost my DLC too. I forgot about it and saw that Gamepass jumped to $13.99 per month on Paypal. For a little bit more I have Humble Choice and for me that is head and shoulders better for the Community at large and I get way more than the narrative that is making people lament Gaming. So I tried the $1 hook again and Downloaded Madden Football. That Game has not been optimized since the PS2. Locking the FPS at 60 with no way of changing it meant that I could Pass the ball at will and run for 200 yards a Game but that was not enjoyable at all.

The fact that Windows with Steam is bulletproof is another reason and instead of Xbox Live I spend my time in GOG Galaxy as that is objectively the best innovation in Gaming platform support in Years. (Including support for Xbox Live). I know for me I will not download anymore of the free games either as you have no access to the file folder that the Game is in (On your Hard drive). I have even asked people on TPU what happens when they remove a Game (Xbox) with expected results.

Fantastic, paying through the nose to own nothing in 40 new lower income countries. Its not for me. It never will be. I like autonomy in what I play and when and how.

Its not cheaper either, unless you don't know what it means to save money to do cool stuff and rather like instant gratification.

14 a month already. Wow. They're moving up faster than Netflix
Soon you'll also have the principle of limited availability enforced big time, as the initial publisher deals run out and everything gets put on the corporate scale of 'how do we max profits'.

if it was not for steam and GoG, other companies probably wouldn't even sell us games anymore. probably would be a rent model.

Nah thats just the corporate lifestyle based not on sustainable growth, but short term greed. Disgust is my take away, not good gaming, and there are millions of gamers sharing that idea. Even if I do play triple A, there is always a meh aftertaste. Like going to a B movie and knowing it'll be shit. You want the night out, but mostly for that event, not for the movie itself.

There will always be solid market share for sanity and good content. I have no doubt, even if this happens with ups and downs, much like gaming itself. Reality checks happen and people get back on the right track. I guess that's where my 'optimism' is founded, alongside all the pessimism I possess.

Steam works because its built on sustainable growth, basically. It just does what it does and in doing so, we love it and we trust it.
Windows coincidentally and despite the hate 'Gabe' has for it, is the exact same thing. The two should be loving each other, even with better Linux support, they are essential to one another. If Windows loses its current status and compatibility, Steam will die.
GoG works because it just gives you the thing and you secure your own sustainable growth of gaming library - and again, in doing so, builds trust.

Steam already does the "rent model", they don't sell you the game, they sell you a license that allows you to play the game. You cannot download and keep it. The only store that sells you the game to do with it whatever you want is GOG.
