RTX 4060 Ti has about 22 TFLOPS which is similar to RTX 3070 Ti's 21 TFLOPS. Both SKUs have 8 GB VRAM. RTX 4060 Ti has a 32 MB L2 cache vs 3070 Ti's 4 MB L2 cache.

The combined best characteristics of RTX 3060 12 GB and RTX 3070 Ti's 21 TFLOPS is effectively RTX 4070's 29 TFLOPS with 12 GB VRAM.

$75 would be a very high estimate, the die size is barley bigger than Intel's ultra low end Pentium processors (the G7400 for example) and Intel is selling that CPU for $90. It's at best a $200 product being sold for $400 - $500 and beyond a ripoff with inadequate RAM right out of the gate.

If people are forced to buy a new GPU in short order, Nvidia likely only sees that as a win. 95% of those people will go right ahead and buy another Nvidiai card. Gamers don't seem to vote with their wallets and the tech press rolls over whenever Nvidia drops new cards. Case in point, the positive tone of 4070 reviews across the board. It's an actual joke.
There are shills who defend NVIDA's actions e.g. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...ame-gets-confirmed.306585/page-2#post-4994019

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
Nvidia is plugging the four games where dlss3 frame gen actually gets good gains hard, copying AMD's higher L2 cache from the last two-and-a-half-years and being nvidia
FTFY ;)

You're not wrong though. Nvidia will push games people don't play with settings people don't use to clog the media with "nvidia wins" content.

Meanwhile, 95%+ of the target audience are playing games that don't have DLSS3, or RT, or both.

VRAM affects the game's primary artwork and the PS5's $499 experience is the minimum. RT at crazy path trace settings doesn't change the game's primary artwork quality or the game's story.

Yeah, I've been campaigning that for years.

Graphics don't make the game good, and scaling up screen texture quality is meaningless if the scene is optimised for a lower resolution and poly-count.

How many Nvidiots will still by this overpriced garbage. 8GB and 128 bit bus, these are x050 class specs at x070 prices. $459 is rumoured price and unless AMD can offer a 7700XT at $399 Nvidia won't budge one bit.

This shrinking bus will continue with vengeance with Blackwell as Nvidia is paying so much for TSMC's 3nm they are forced to make dies as small as possible. I wouldn't be surprised to see 5080 on 192bit, 5070Ti on 160 bit, 5070 on 128 bit and 4060 on 96 bit. They will claim DDR7 will give them all the bandwidth they need. and hammer fake frames tech to make passable performance at ultra settings.

8GB is the new 4GB. Even the 12GB of the 4070 Ti are a joke for the money.

The PS5 has 320bit bus memory by the way

8gb? I hope nobody buys it so nvidia will understand through loss that nobody want 8gb gpus anymore.
There are people who gonna buy it... Just like me, who bought rtx 3060 ti during deadliest panic ever on earth.

rtx4070 and rtx3080 have about the same teraflops and it performs about the same.
Make comparison with one more old series graphic cards ;)
RTX 2080 ti has FP32 (float) 13.45 TFLOPS. Vs. 82,58 TFLOPS of RTX 4090. In term of FPS RTX 4090 must have 6.15X more FPS than RTX 2080 ti...

teraflops≠Nvidia teraflops
RTX 2080 Ti has discrete ~13.45 TIOPS (INT32) and ~13.45 TFLOPS (FP32), hence the combined shader TOPS is 26.9.

TOPS = Tera "trillion" Operations Per Second or TeraOPS.

For the Ampere generation, the discrete TIOPS CUDA cores gained floating point processing capability. RTX 3070 Ti has 21.75 TFLOPS.

Pure TFLOPS argument between Turing vs Ampere hides Turing's discrete TIOPS CUDA cores.

In terms of CUDA TOPS capability, RTX 2080 Ti is close to RTX 3070 Ti / RTX 3070.

The PS5 has 320bit bus memory by the way
PS5 has 256-bit 16 GB GDDR6-14000 and 512 MB DDR4.

XSX has 320-bit 16 GB GDDR6-14000.

This comment is quite useful but from gamers look didn't justify anything. Maybe for some semi-professional users for their job, yes.

Nvidia is evil, sad to see how they abuse pc gamers by making their mid range cards dead on arrival forcing you to buy their highest margins cards, they must be sued to the ground, someone must step in, they have crossed the line this generation, either you buy a 4090, or get 12gb cards that barley last two years or are dead on arrival with below minimum vram

Nobody is abusing PC gamers. However PC gamers as a whole make unreasonable demands. Despite PC gaming being in actual reality the low end gaming solution and far from a master race PC gamers routinely insist that this is not the case and often demand companies lose money just to help PC gaming. It's one of the reasons it's so widely mocked.

WoW. I suppose gamers itself was wish f'kin ray tracing on their backs? I think also others features which must be work and responsibilities of game studios not to be cooking on gaming cards in real time which eat tremendous resources and make more power consumption and heat costing that to pocket of gamers.

Hi,
Nvidia says gamepass only needs 8gb as long as it's a rt card :p

If AMDs RDNA3 midrange offers manage to take a (big) bite of Nvidia's market share I can imagine a 4060 "super" with 12gb from the same AD104 silicon as the 4070s, and also a 16gb 4070TI/super using "defective"/cut down AD103 chips. And they'll say "we listened"!
If no "decent" competition shows up, they'll never bother.
