Customization is a cornerstone of Diablo IV. From how your character looks, to the Skills they wield, to the appearance of their Gear and Mount, Diablo IV empowers players with a level of agency never previously offered in a Diablo game. The decision of what type of wanderer you want to play in the world of Sanctuary begins at the Class selection screen and follows you into the Endgame. It's up to YOU to decide how your character will grow and evolve as they pursue Lilith.

Watch the latest Inside the Game developer video on player choice and continue reading for more insight into the customization available to players. Plus, learn how you can play Diablo IV from May 12-14 during Server Slam. Over the course of our Inside the Game video series, we'll sit down with our resident Diablo IV experts -members of the development team - to walk you through elements of the game.

Our third video in this series is Your Class Your Way—an exploration of how player choice is infused in character creation, character builds, gear, and even how you decide to navigate the non-linear story of Diablo IV.

Join Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson, lead class designer Adam Jackson, lead game producer Melissa Corning, and game director Joe Shely as they expound upon how your decisions will define your gameplay experience, and even Sanctuary itself. Enjoyed this video and hungry for more? Stay tuned! Our next Inside the Game developer video focuses on Story and will release in mid-May. Keep an eye out on our news site or official Diablo YouTube channel for more details.

To learn more about customization in Diablo IV please read our codex guide.

Diablo IV is available for digital pre-purchase as a Standard edition ($69.99), Deluxe edition ($89.99), and Ultimate edition ($99.99). Each digital edition includes one or more items to enlist against the Hellspawn that plague Sanctuary! Pre-purchase for up to 4 days Early Access.

yawn, I'm glad I didn't pre-order now. I need to get through Grim Dawn still anyway, and I keep delaying that year after year... so I may never get to Diablo IV sadly. backlog is just too big

I can already see myself sinking way too many hours into farming stuff and playing around with end game builds. 'that part interest me the most in such games'
At least they have an okay free transmog system so even w/o buying cosmetics my char wont look total crap. 'This I already liked in the beta'

Good to see some classics coming back like the Windforce. :)

I am going to play the next open beta as well, probably do lightning sorcerer again while its free, I'm curious to see if they nerfed it. It was like playing the game on easy mode, lol

They did nerf some part of chain lightning being less effective vs bosses/single target.
I did play on Veteran and that was also fairly easy once I got my build going but its just a low lvl content and thats almost never difficult anyway. 'theres still 2 higher up tiers for higher levels/end game'

dang that sucks. I was enjoying the part of taking on monsters bigger than I should have been taking on... that ruins some of the fun for me personally. oh well
