Blizzard has released a new post outlining some of the key elements of the Diablo 4 game, an all new game developer video, as well as the final and launch system requirements for the game. The latest post talks about the character build like skill tree nodes and passives, cosmetics and character creation like transmogs and mounts, and gear.

There is also a whole new game developer video, which is a part of the Inside the Game video series, talking about choices that come with character creation, character builds, gear. Hosted by Rod Fergusson, general manager, Adam Jackson, lead class designer, Melissa Corning, lead game producer, and Joe Shely, game director, this latest developer video gives a bit more insight about the gameplay experience.

As said, Blizzard has also announced the launch system requirements for PC, including minimum, medium, high, and ultra 4K spec requirements. According to Blizzard, you'll need at least an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8350 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 280 graphics cards to run the game at 1080p/720p resolution, low graphics settings at 30 FPS. Of course, you'll also need at least 90 GB of SSD storage.

If you want the full experience at UHD/4K resolution, ultra graphics setting and 60 FPS, you'll need an Intel Core i7-8700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080/GeForce RTX 40 Series for fully supported DLSS 3, or an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU.

Well, low sys req are a good thing, in defense of blizzard they have always been good at having their games scale down, you could turn down starcraft 2 so much it started to look like starcraft 1.
And believe me, I have no love for blizzard and will definitely skip D4, or any other game they make for that matters.

I'm not sure about that, D4's engine looks and feel a lot more modern + at least it utilizes the hardware much better. 'D4's engine is using DX12 by default'

D3 on my system maxed out.
D3maxfps.jpg

As you can see the game is mainly bound by 1 CPU core/thread while the GPU is like sleeping.

D4 beta maxed out:
D4maxfps.jpg

Everything is pretty much fully utilized on my end, I'm curious to see if they improved the vram/system memory usage and a possible leak since I read that bunch of ppl had an issue with that in the beta.
On my end I had zero crashes just some stutters in town but the actual gameplay was smooth.

Edit:
Just did some checking around and yea it was stated by a developer in one of the early Questions&Answers that D4 is using a new engine.:)

Also I'm pretty sure a 1080 can run D3 at 4k and a 1060 at 1080p maxed out over 60fps

I think 5700XT/2060 for 1080p60 and a 3080/6800XT for 4k60 is reasonable for how it looks visually

My setup did do 4k120 maxed out with around 40% gpu utilization it looks pretty decent honestly much better than D3 anyways.

Wth, they recommend a 3080 for maxxing out FHD and you're getting 140fps on a 3060Ti?

There goes the burning need for gobs of VRAM, a 3080 for 4k60+ says it all.

Yup thats probably right, honestly you are more likely to run into a CPU single thread bottleneck in D3 more than anything but at least D4 is much better optimized in that regard.

Thats for 4k ultra, I was playing on 2560x1080 Ultra.
Combat is more demanding but even there 100+ fps wasn't really a problem. 'moot point anyway cause I limit my max fps to my 75 Hz monitor when I'm not benchmarking'

I mean 4k with tweaked settings is most likely playable on a 3060 Ti but don't quote me on that.

Ah, I read the title from one section and the video card from the next. My bad.

Wheres the settings for the swathe of Gamers that run 1440p ???
I'd be more interested to know if this is indeed just Diablo Immortal for the PC, as was rumored at some point.

FWIW I was able to run the open beta at 3840x1600 Ultra fullscreen hovering around 60 FPS with my 1080 Ti and 7700K.

Well based on my 2 beta weekends that I've played and also tried Immortal recently.
Not even close heck D4 is also fairly different to D3. 'take it from someone who played that damn game for 3000+ hours since day 1..'

To me D4 actually felt like a new and more in depth game compared to the previous ones, the open world part I needed some time to get used to but it worked out pretty well imo and the dungeons were decent too. 'supposedly there will be 150 of them at relase'
Not to mention that this was only the beta with a very limited game content up to lvl 25 and ACT 1. 'full game will have 6 ACTs based on the achievements and lvl 100 at relase with higher difficulties to unlock'
The game played better already than some new games at relase especially recently. 'okay this is not a high bar to reach but still'

It does look like that they are trying to get things right this time around, other than the first few hours of the beta weekends I had no issues playing and they already made some changes based on the beta feedback.
I don't think they are gonna go down the Immortal path with D4 but thats just me. 'I don't mind paid cosmetics in the battle pass to be honest'

Pretty much identical to how I felt about the beta I probably have at least 3000 hours sunk into D3 and probably 1000 into D2 and this honestly felt better overall to me as a complete package. That being said D3 improved massively over time to the point where the most recent season might have been it's best I expect a similar trajectory for D4 only it will seemingly be starting in a much better place

I don't mind the paid cosmetics as well the core D3 team has supported that game with new content for a like a decade so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

The one thing I do hope this get's back are those godly 1 in a billion drops I felt D3 was missing from D2

4K 144fps was a breeze in the beta, with DLSS 3 at launch, GPU utilization could be 40% like in FH5 :D

I did play D2 since my late elementary school days till somewhat after graduating high school so ~7+ years in total including both offline singleplayer and the rest online Battlenet. 'got into end game builds/gear and whatnot while playing ladders only on bnet'
D1 I only played trough twice at a later point and at the time it was already considered a retro game I just didn't want to miss out.

To be honest D2R is the only one I did not play for real cause I did not feel like playing the ~ same game with better graphics and farm all that stuff again with such low droprates. 'I know that D2R is different now and had bunch of updates and changes but still'

As for D4 I'm willing to give it a chance cause it did feel pretty good to me already and I like their approach. 'I don't have a crystal ball to see what they gonna do to the game in 1-2 years, things could change in either direction for all I know'

Supposedly the unique items in D4 will be kinda rare tho no one knows exactly how rare. 'While I don't mind some rare gear like that, I don't want High Rune level of rare like back in D2 cause I had no luck with those and had to trade for them all the time'

Compared to the relase version of D3 and the current one is indeed a big difference, I would say that D4 is in a much better condition already than how D3 was at relase.
And ye the current season in D3 is probably the best we had, I'm still working on a Nova Necro to make my final GR push and break my previous records/conclude my D3 career with it before D4.:)

The D4 devs did say that the D4 seasons will be shorter but they will add new content/game modes or whatever and that will stay permanently in the game not just as a season theme.

I did play D2 since my late elementary school days till somewhat after graduating high school so ~7+ years in total including both offline singleplayer and the rest online Battlenet. 'got into end game builds/gear and whatnot while playing ladders only on bnet'

Ok, that makes your opinion much more relevant.
D2 set the bar for the gameplay, but D1 had the atmosphere...

I wouldn't worry about the atmosphere, if someone disliked D3 for its colorful cartoony 'WoW like' look then thats in the past with D4.
Some of the dungeons were pretty grim looking and no funny looking bosses either at least not in the beta from what I explored. 'In game engine cutscenes are also surprisingly decent quality'

Gameplay is a bit subjective, it was fairly responsive/satisfying imo with the Sorc I was playing. 'Can't properly judge this before playing an actual end game build to see how those work but I suspect that we will see some crazy stuff and spammy builds just like some of the late D2 and D3 builds'

You say that as if it's a bad thing.
Nah, not at all, if it plays well, it plays well. Its very Blizzard-y to have a low bar of entry.

I'm not sure about that, D4's engine looks and feel a lot more modern + at least it utilizes the hardware much better. 'D4's engine is using DX12 by default'

D3 on my system maxed out.

As you can see the game is mainly bound by 1 CPU core/thread while the GPU is like sleeping.

D4 beta maxed out:

Everything is pretty much fully utilized on my end, I'm curious to see if they improved the vram/system memory usage and a possible leak since I read that bunch of ppl had an issue with that in the beta.
On my end I had zero crashes just some stutters in town but the actual gameplay was smooth.

Edit:
Just did some checking around and yea it was stated by a developer in one of the early Questions&Answers that D4 is using a new engine.:)

Funny, now the system uses all cores and still produces similar FPS... on an empty screen... as D3 could produce on a single core and with a screen full of numbers and crap flying around. Also the utilization is much higher for that FPS. At least you're GPU limited now, clearly, that's a good thing

I wish all devs would release reqs like this, targeting different resolutions and framerates instead of just minimum and recommended with nothing else.

Why only the mention of 60 FPS?
