State-of-the-art Color E Ink Screen
Tab Ultra C represents a significant milestone as our first device with the cutting-edge Kaleido 3 color E Ink screen technology, delivering a high resolution of 300 PPI for black and white, and 150 PPI for displaying an extensive palette of 4,096 colors. The screen also features the innovative E Ink ComfortGaze front light technology, designed to optimize viewing comfort during both daytime and nighttime use.



Reimagined Refresh Experience
We have incorporated the hallmark ultra-smooth performance of our Tab Series into the color E Ink screen of Tab Ultra C, utilizing the BOOX Super Refresh Technology powered by an advanced Qualcomm Octa-core CPU and an exclusive GPU. This enables four distinct refresh modes optimized for various tasks such as reading, note-taking, and using apps on the ePaper screen. It is a shame that ePaper still suffers from the white to black to white flickering with each screen update. Not interested until they fix this. While a static page may cause less eyestrain, these flicker updates undo any benefits of the static page. It is just about OK for ebook reading, with the flicker on "turn a page", but when running apps, the amount of flicker is maddening.

That's because it's not the kind of tablet that most people will think of when you ask them to describe a tablet. If flickering is any concern to you, you are not the target audience and you do not want an e-ink device. This will not be fixed any time soon because that's inherent to the technology and one of the reasons why battery life is absolutely amazing.
It's something you buy next to a tablet you already have, not because you need/want a tablet.

This is honestly a very interesting device and I'm really curious to see voya's review on this.

I still don't know why Boox is so hellbend on trying to advertise it as a tablet PC but different.
I'm getting flashbacks to their short circuit spot for the note air. Terrible video.

I'd describe it best as the ultimate note-taking/annotating device with colours for people with lots of money to spend.
That said, Boox SW can be a bit of a mess.

Disclaimer: I have the Note air. I use it about daily to jot down some quick thoughts (sometimes work, sometimes personal project) and use it to fill in pdfs occasionally.

At least on Note Air 2 its adjustable (after how many taps / page turns) and can even be completely turned off (as in no automatic full refresh, only when manually requested e.g. by tapping on clock) and its in fact very usable and doesn't ghost so badly as i initally expected.
