This update is a continuation of our response to this issue. As mentioned, ASUS has been working with AMD on defining new rules for the new BIOS updates. These updates will continue to be completed as necessary. The BIOS updates address concerns regarding potential damage that may occur when using Ryzen 7000 series processors with our AM5 motherboards by following the latest guidance from AMD. This includes a cap on SOC voltage at 1.3 V. Please download the latest version of the BIOS updates from asus.com/support.

Thank you again for choosing our product. If you still have any questions, or are concerned that your motherboard may have been affected by this issue, please contact our ASUS support team in your region. If an issue is identified, your motherboard will be covered by our warranty. Our support teams are ready to assist you.

To be cynical about it, mark 20:25:
1085° Celsius (copper melting point) is the new 95° for Asus AM5 boards.

1410° maybe on AM6, as no melting silicone was observed in this sample :)

Asus has clearly won the "who can run the highest motherboard temp".
Motherboard Over-engineering with features and protection- perfected.

I honestly didn't think it was physically possible for our desktop PC's to get something so hot... kind of blows me away.

I guess I know nothing about electronics and physics, sorry I suck at life lol. @caroline! @Shrek

No? Stick a piece of jumper wire in your electrical outlet.... (j/k) Electricity can do much worse than that.

I read that lightning is hotter than the sun, which also blows me away, just hard to wrap my head around it.

Would be neat to learn why we can't create lighting in a vaccuum to create unlimited energy, what creates lightning in nature? Can we build something big enough to replicate those conditions, except make those conditions never stop? I don't know. I'm really tired and too lazy to google tonight. Just ignore me, bed time soon :D

The BIOS updates address concerns regarding potential damage that may occur when using Ryzen 7000 series processors with our AM5 motherboards by following the latest guidance from AMD.

Probably should put a comma after "motherboards".

I kinda wish with Zen5 that AMD would take a step back from the cores and leave them as-is with Zen4 design, but instead put significant work into overhauling the memory controllers and make the processor capable of something like ddr5-8000 with only 1.1v or whatever. Then we wouldn't have issues like this nearly as much from people trying to run fast memory and frying the processor.

And then to wring more performance out of the new cpu so that people would actually see it as an upgrade and buy it, do something like stick an L4 cache chiplet onto the package and call it a day.

This generation of Asus AMD boards in the mid to low end are... junk. Entirely uncompetitive with MSI and Gigabyte offerings.

I ended up going with Gigabyte B650 Elite AX.

All board partners were concerned but funnily enough it's not only mid to low end board failing but primarily high end board which is comical considering the astronomic price hike with AM5 boards across the board . At this point AM5 launch has been more chaotic than AM4 launch which is not doing any favors to AMD to say the least !

Not even referring to failures. The Asus boards are just lower quality compared to other manufacturers in the mid to low pricing segment.
