Dell first unveiled its UltraSharp U3224KB 6K monitor back in early January at the CES 2023 trade show - this professional-grade 31.5-inch screen boasts Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and sports an impressive IPS Black panel (courtesy of LG Display) capable of displaying a super dense 6144 x 3456 pixel resolution. Today the North American technology company has announced that its U3224KB model is available to purchase at a price of $3,199 (CA $4,289.99).

The UltraSharp's competitive pricing undercuts the nearest competition by $1000 - Apple's Pro Display XDR is marginally better in terms of specifications, but potential buyers will get landed with a $5000 bill for the privilege of owning it. Dell is hoping that a bunch of handy features on its offering - including an in-built KVM, 4K HDR webcam, plenty of type USB-C & A ports, a Thunderbolt 4 port and dual 14 W speakers - will be enough to steal some professional clients from Team Cupertino.

Be ultra-productive on the world's first 6K monitor with IPS Black panel technology featuring exceptional color and detail, future-ready connectivity and built-in collaboration features:

Be ultra productive on the world's 1st 6K monitor with IPS Black panel technology. Who needs a dock when you have that many ports? That's impressive although I wouldn't spend that much on a monitor.

I don't know what the use case for this kind of monitor is, but for those uneducated, an IPS Black screen is 2000:1 contrast ratio from what I remember, so this is probably a really good looking monitor.

Who would use something like this? Just curious... an architect that needs to zoom in on fine details of blueprints or???

4k costs 1500
6k costs 3000
8k costs 5000

pricing same as with gpus

usecase: anyone who would like it

Docks are not userfriendly and get hiccups very fast if you dont update the firmware

Does not have mini LED and has a horrendous bezel. I don't get it. Should have been cancelled.

I've used plenty of docks (and deployed enough for a lifetime) and only ever had issues with high bandwidth displays. My point of mentioning docks was that with monitors like this you wouldn't need one.

Wow, it has 2.5GBase-T....I could see someone with money getting this to act like the laptop dock.

Wow that price is just insane. I knew it would be high as 6k is a novelty and they spruced up the spec sheet with 4k HDR webcam and all but over 3k$ is just too much for a regular display high end as it may be.

6K @ 32", so probably 200% scaling needed at least and you end up with no more real estate than around 3K monitor and I'll bet it uses a lot more power than even a 4K.

it may be not good for using it in windows, but playing games or having 12+ Gaming clients open at the same then this monitor is very usefull
Its kinda outragous that 8k Monitors/Beamers came first instead of 6k
