RISMATIKA and Galaxy Grove today announce Station to Station, a brand new minimalist, voxel-art railroad building simulator, which will be pulling into Steam later this year. In Station to Station, players are tasked with transforming a small rural world into a vibrant, lush environment full of life and colour by placing stations and creating connections to foster growth and expansion. Grab your conductor's hat and watch the beautiful, tilt shift-inspired, voxel-art world come to life in the brand new announcement trailer.

Aspiring conductors will hop on board and steam through a variety of colourful biomes, breathing new life into dry desert sands, and transforming untamed mountain terrain. As the tracks are laid down a tranquil world will spring to life with an ever-widening tapestry of flora and fauna! For those seeking to test their management and planning skills, each of the game's levels offer their own optional challenges, stack bonuses, and unique mechanics tied to every biome. Whether seeking relaxation or mental stimulation, Station to Station has something for everyone!

Station to Station Features:
  • Enjoy your journey as you embark on a relaxing and peaceful experience
  • Take in the views with beautiful, colourful voxel art
  • Upgrade your experience as optional strategic gameplay allows players to earn high scores

hrmmm not sure, the maps look too small, and i find the voxel art really unappealing(i'm sure they chose voxel to simplify development and to cater to "minecraft" players, a ""game"" which i detest).

I'll see when it comes out if there's a demo or something

Not keen on the voxel graphics either, but it could potentially be fun.

i hope so, the existing "railroad building sims" i've tried have been overcomplicated micromanagement nightmares, like railroad empire that lacks basic automation for tedious tasks

Ooh, immediately reminded me of Railroad Tycoon 3. Jesus, that came out 20 years ago now.

While the voxel art itself isn't my favorite, I think it'll lend itself very well to pretty lighting which imo is (significantly) more important than textures or models for how good any game looks. Minecraft with shaders, despite being made up entirely of cubes with 16x16 textures, looks very nice. No amount of modeling or textures can make a game look as "real" as a good lighting engine or ray tracing.

Added it to my wishlist. Indie devs are always a crapshoot, but then again, so are AAA titles. Fingers crossed it comes out good, I feel like I haven't seen any kind of tycoon-esque game in years.
