Logitech has announced the merging of its microphone and audio equipment brands - their G Gaming Twitter account posted about this decision yesterday, and directed customers to a question and answer session on the official subreddit: "Where do you get support? How will ASTRO, Blue and LFC integrate into Logitech G? Will there be new ASTRO products? Get your questions answered with our official FAQ." A brand manager has since confirmed (via a fan query) that the Blue brand is getting nixxed: "We will be keeping the Yeti brand and moving it under Logitech G. The Blue name will be used to describe our technologies." Logitech spent a cool $177 million when it acquired Blue Microphones back in mid-2018, so it is odd that the company has chosen to drop a very recognizable and popular brand name in the worlds of podcasting, streaming and audio recording.

News outlets have discovered that Blue has been removed from the brands section of Logitech's website, and the Bluemic.com domain now directs back to the parent company's main online presence(s). The Logitech G sub-page has been updated with listings of Yeti, Snowball and other microphone models. A brand manager also outlined ASTRO's future: "(it will) continue to live on as a premium console audio product series underneath the Logitech G brand. Stay tuned for more information regarding ASTRO including a launch that we think our community will be very excited about...We're (also) very excited about ASTRO as a product series under Logitech G."

The Logitech G software suite is set to become a central and synergized interface to control the various newly consolidated equipment lines, as hinted in a Twitter video announcement from yesterday. This promised "deeper integration" is said to be arriving in the near future.

The aforementioned Reddit thread includes this introduction: "We're excited to announce that the ASTRO Gaming, Blue Microphones and Logitech for Creator teams are joining up with Logitech G! In some instances, we have been partnered together for quite some time; did you know ASTRO joined Logitech back in 2017? This change will drive a deeper connection between gamers and content creators, while giving you a chance to build a setup that allows you to do both. Now what does this mean for you? As Logitech G fans, you will continue to receive advanced gaming gear that continues to provide technology innovation for you to find the best way to play. In addition to that, we will integrate the work done by the other brands to expand our efforts to gamers and creators. We know changes like this will also come with questions from the community, so we answered some of those below. Our team will also look to host a Reddit AMA here in the near future to continue the conversation with the community."

You're kind of excluding a lot of the professional world when your brand everything with "gaming" on it.

Pretty sure this is Logitech being open about the fact that Blue, etc. cannot hold a candle to actual professional audio equipment.

Shame. I hope the products remain no-nonsense, I really like my Blue Snowball. Set and forget, picks my voice up very well. And if I dare say, if they change the design of the Snowball to replace the Blue logo by their fugly, nonsensical Logitech G I would be livid to the point I wouldn't buy another, because it'd look terrible.

I love the goofy 1940s mic look it has and I wouldn't change it for anything

Logitech went from being Renound to trash like microsoft when it came to input devices.

The MX510 outlasted both the G5 and G500 mice.

Just keep Astro away from G Hub. Astro Command Center (not from the MS Store) is where it is, even if I don't look forward to changing my A40's anytime soon.
