Shouldn't matter much, anyway. You can probably get a 3DMark key easily enough from a third party reseller.

It's very useful to debug GPU problems and to check how your computer ranks compared to similar setups. Makes it easy to see if there is something wrong. It's a great reference when you have a problem on a specific game so you can compare. It's also a great GPU stability test. I've used it countless times for this and it's always been useful. Plus it doesn't cost much when it's on sale. What's $8 when diablo IV is $70?

Yeah beats me. I mean, I can get into 5 bucks, but 35? GTFO

You can benchmark on anything.

To a point, but still why pay 8 when you can run, say, OCCT for free... or Unigine.. or *insert game XYZ*

70-8 is paying 62 bucks to play Diablo IV while benching your card instead of 78 to have pretty much the same thing

If you want to actually debug your GPU, there is GPU-Z and ingame monitoring. Synthetics to debug? That's a first...
Ranking... is mostly a cause for concern because CPU score weighs into it, you can have a subpar score with a perfectly fine GPU and then people go on a wild goose chase to find a problem that doesn't exist.

I think the primary purpose of a GPU-heavy bench is to determine the OC limits of the card, but frankly, there are better ways for that too now on all GPUs too. Its called an undervolt and/or running stock.

Yeah... physics, a CPU test that scales dramatically on core count, which is exactly what games don't really need

3DMark is 99% pointless today, to be honest.

No. They lack proper CPU load. Its not a game or representative of it either. Its simply a fixed load on your graphics card allowing you to compare them.

I test drivers for AMD sometimes swapping multiple drivers a week. I use Time Spy as a point of reference to any kind of performance changes. it certainly serves a very important purpose for me.
