PUBG is still relevant?
Around 300k to 350k of active players per day, so it's still pretty relevant and profitable to PUBG Corp to say the least.

When did PUBG start getting called PUBG: Battlegrounds?

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds.

Is that because it's now twice as battlegrounds-ey as it used to be, or is this just some dumb name change to pander to clueless idiots?

They've had mobile games and a lower quality free version released, so it's probably related to the dumb spinoffs
