Beagleboard.org Launches New BeagleV-Ahead RISC-V Single Board Computer

the price is a complete miss by a wide wide margin and makes this a "dead in the water" product...

¿why would i ever consider this with a pretty much chinesium unknown cpu over a much much more powerful rpi4 with ample software support?, notwithstanding supply issues, you can pretty much buy the 8gb rpi4 at even cheaper price.

And this is not the first time i see SBC "competitors" completely missing the price target

that's not a SBC, that's a MCU board, a totally different thing.

It's like the raspberry pi pico to the raspberry pi

Ans it's also not really "competitive", the top of the line offering is $4.99, with 144mhz, i can get a ESP32-S3 board for same or cheaper, with dual core 240mhz, plus wifi AND BT

RISC-V seems to be the trademark feature here. It's an early devboard. Not sure its worth it, but, it is what it is.
