What if some casual gamers are heterosexual women? Do they also have to get a GF? I mean, husband is a more appropriate thing here...

What ever kind of partner or partners their heart desires. I don't care.

So... Husbond as opposed to GF. Nice one

If they keep this up, a lot of casual gamers are going to move on to other things like programming, tinkering and outdoor activities. Who knows.. Maybe even get a girlfriend.

but.. but.. but what if the casual gamer is a he-she-hybrid who believes they're a cat during the day, a lion during the night but a teapot on the weekends?

we need more clarity

Its going to take more than 10 X's for me to get one if they are $550.
Only 9 should be $200 at most. Unless RGB is very good and makes me look kewl in the eyes of 25y old kids.

I'm a casual gamer, and I have a girlfriend (who is not, by the way). How cool is that?

Just one tip for those who are wondering: don't try to impress women with the RGB setup on your high-end GPU. It won't work.

I guess that's a lost case already.

Slightly above 400 Euro non-XT. 430 perhaps.
About 500 Euro 7700 XT I guess.

Will then drop because no reasonable person wants this for this loads of cash.

Cheapest 7600 in my country is 289.99€.
So I guess 7700 will start from around 400 and might dip under.
That's a little over my comfort zone but I'll see.

In my area, used 6800 XTs cost so little (a nickle below €300) it lost any sense to wait for next-gen middles. It's cheaper than a 7600!

And 3 years since the release is just the sweet spot. You have almost no chance to fail in purchasing if you go for such cards. Almost all of those with "childhood diseases" are long gone.

Yeah, RX 7800 might be a little faster and a little more power efficient than a 6800 XT but 2-month waiting... Too taxing. I'd grab a used 6800 XT and call it a day if I was you. Just check the reviews on your seller and don't forget to test and examine their card before giving your money.

//seeing an RX 6700 XT made me doubt the sanity of such "upgrade." Is 50 percent speed boost worth all that trouble?//

If the RX 7600 is anything to go by, AMD at least understands that stuff will rot on shelves if it's not price-competitive with other options in the same performance segment.

The official $279 MSRP of the RX 7600 wasn't awful against the selling price of the outgoing 6650XT and 6600XT, but the street pricing drop to $249 makes it a compelling buy among the 8GB competition and heavily-discounted Ampere stock that's still selling.

AMD don't need to compete with the 40-series on price, they know they need to compete with the entire open GPU market.

AMD actually did something dirty for the RTX 4060 launch and it is reflected in this post.

When the RTX 4060 launched, AMD and their partners launched temporary rebates to make it appear the RX 7600 was now 249.99 and reviews reflected this including the techpowerup one.

However look at pricing today from AMAZON and Newegg and you will see their are zero RX 7600 listed for 249.99 and all of them are pretty much the starting MSRP of RX 7600 of 269.99.

I wonder if AMD emailed all the reviewers this pricing because no one is referencing the 269.99 price of the card.

At $50 cheaper, the rx 7600 kind of makes sense vs the RTX 4060. However at 30 dollars cheaper(10%) with the small performance advantage of the RTX 4060, it's basically a push with Nvidia software stack and power efficiency

IMO you still buy the 6650XT until stocks run out. I see those on Newegg US at $225 right now.

Regional pricing is always a factor, I just checked the big three in the UK and the 7600 is £10 cheaper than the 6650XT at OCUK, priced identically at Ebuyer, and only £10 more at Scan. At price parity, you get the 7600, but otherwise just get the cheapest. The 8GB VRAM will be the problem in the future long before the GPUs lack enough shader power to deliver frames fast enougn.
