According to a post by Twitter/X leaker @g01d3nm4ng0, it looks like Intel has no intention of giving its 14th gen Core i3 processors more than four cores. We'd take this leak with the usual helping of seasoning, but the leaker does provide details on what is expected to be most of Intel's non-K SKU 14th gen lineup, including clock speeds. If correct, then most of the 14th gen Core processors will see a 200 MHz boost speed clock increase over their 13th gen counterparts, with the exception of the Core i5-14400 which only gets a 100 MHz increase.

The non-K CPUs follow a familiar pattern to previous generation Intel chips, with the Core i9 and Core i7 parts being 200 MHz slower than their K SKU variants, with the Core i5 being 100 MHz slower. The only other noteworthy piece of information in this leak, is that the Core i7-14700 gets the same extra four E-Cores, just as its K SKU variant, or four more E-Cores than the Core i7-13700. At this point in time it's just plain weird that Intel hasn't added E-Cores to its Core i3 range of desktop chips, as even the lowest-end Core i5 SKU sports six P-Cores and four E-Cores since the 13th gen, so the Core i3 should be a 4+4 chip by now, but it seems like Intel has other plans for the i3-14100/F.

Weren't there earlier rumours that the 14100 and 14300 would be 6C(6P+0E)/12T? Not that I expect that much from a refresh, especially in the lower end of the stack, but it would be nice if it got a core count increase.

Nah, Intel doesn't think its consumer customers deserves that good of a CPU...

IMHO, everyone should ignore Core i3, Ryzen 3, Celeron, Pentium, Athlon, Intel N, Atom, etc. Save your money for a higher end processor and upgrade less often. Don’t let these companies get away with such incremental annual crap.

Quad core is pretty good for budget, my laptop is only dual core, I think most important though they have reasonable per core performance, my laptop has 2ghz max clock and the IPC is pretty bad as a bonus.

No 10-P cores for now...

Earlier rumors said 8+8, 8+12 and 8+16.

That would be a great segmentation. What's the point of releasing a refreshed CPU where the only difference is a 100-200 MHz higher clock speed?

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I was really hoping the 2P+8e configurations seen in ultraportables would make their way to desktop.

The gloss has been scraped entirely off this refresh other than 14700 at same price as 13700. Next I'll bet DLVR is not present either.

I can understand a 100 series have 4P, but for 14 ge it should at least be 4P+2E and 300 series should be 6P+2E.

There are rumours that Intel is looking at hiking their CPU prices by 20% across the board...

i7 has the chance to become durable future proof octa core although worried about its pricing and power efficency idle/ and intelligent behaviour
in power usage with some gaming and office usage, current tdp of 13600 upward is a bit to high to my liking
