That looks really small, is that a 48''?
I had wireless charging in a fixed position on a desk, it sucks: it forces you to rearrange everything for the phone, I ended up not using it in the end.

There are plenty motorized standup desks with chargers in the 100-200$ range. And some amazing ones at 400-500$.
2200$ is just plain stupid.

If it is only capable of a 70kg load (static, in the downward direction only) then it comes with that IKEA patent: wiggle wobble

70kg is pathetic. Just look at the abilities of a normal office desk. The standard is 100-150kg. And YES I do stand on my desk with a coathanger aerial trying to get a better wifi signal. lol

I have bad news for you. You are not using this kind of desk properly.

Tbh it doesn't even look productivity-oriented. It doesn't offer that much desk space, it doesn't have a shelf for the monitor so you can use the space under it, no shelf for a desktop tower... It's just an expensive storage space for your expensive iDevices. Those will never add up to 70Kg.

I have a feeling IKEA's numbers for IDÅSEN might either be based on their LINNMON style top (hollow trash), or based on some super abusive duty cycle for the motors. I can definitely see that, because hollow cardboard doesn't hold up to mounts well and the motors are good quality but small (iirc). IKEA manual says only to use IKEA approved tops.

Because if that's not the case, then I have been very naughty with mine for a while now. 80lb butcher block, M32Q with arm, S2721DGF with long stacked arm, pair of speakers with stands, bunch of stuff hanging off the bottom, a Gunfighter Mk3 on a mount, and an Orion throttle on a mount. I don't use the motors much but they don't complain about the weight either.

Never had any wobble on hardwood, but on carpet it's obviously like any other sit/stand desk's Achilles heel. But for carpet use I put it up against the wall so there is still zero wobble. It is more stable with a thick wood block than the shitty cardboard top.

A slight bit of a pity that they didn't also extend that cable management to the power cord going to the foot of the desk as well and integrate a way to hide the cable better there. They went through all the trouble of that and kind of stopped and compromised half way. Really seems like a oversight in the thought process behind the desk.

The other significant expense is ensuring the product's integrity. If you examine the underside of any standing desk from other brands, you might find exposed motors, cables, and screw levers, which can potentially be a safety hazard, especially if you have children who might play under the desk. To address this, we have designed our desks with metal and plastic covers to conceal all these components, ensuring not only a cleaner look but also added safety. Moreover, we have taken extra steps to ensure that these covers align perfectly, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of our product.

Why is the desktop still sitting on the floor in the "After" picture?
There are cases that will have intakes on the bottom, having them not sit on the floor/carpet will do wonders reducing the amount of dust taken in. I understand desktops aren't as popular as they used to be, but maybe offer that as an option at least?

You are right. This picture is not quite right. We do have a CPU holder to avoid placing it on the floor.

First let's take a look at the wireless charging. The charger will stand up by itself when it senses the phone.
I see only a disadvantage, now you have a charger tied to your desk, so if one breaks the other is pointless too. A simple port hole that snugly fits a USB C would make the whole thing that much cheaper AND more durable.

The other significant expense is ensuring the product's integrity. If you examine the underside of any standing desk from other brands, you might find exposed motors, cables, and screw levers, which can potentially be a safety hazard, especially if you have children who might play under the desk. Okay. At home I have a standard Office desk with cable management, which can be had at 300~500 bucks depending on location and how large you need it.

The T shape & crossbar of the construction itself is hollow, so you rout the cables through the legs of the desk. The underside of my desk is clean just the same.
So you devised a desk with significant expense while the industry standard to achieve the same thing does it with the very materials used to create the desk itself.

Well done

Perspective? This is commerce taking things to new heights every time, and a response in kind. Is it untrue what I said? Then please do point it out and I will stand corrected. I'm just being honest about what's in front of me and how it compares to whatever else is on the market... and how this is clearly a product looking for a problem that doesn't exist, and solving it in the most curious ways.

Your approach is the passive aggressive stance. Have you considered how that works on the scale of manners?

There’s an actual human being representing their product and rather than engaging with them in earnest, you insult them.

You have GPUs and standing desks figured out — why not go to market and win the market like the vanguard you claim to be?

Nothing passive aggressive about what I said. I think you are being an asshole and I stand by it. True or untrue is irrelevant — it’s a market, as you are aware.

It's meant to go with iDevices, being overdesigned and overpriced is just common sense, if you really think about it.

Im engaging in earnest. What I read is a marketing story built on strange arguments. If there is a good argument against what I said I will happily read the response and Ill even admit I saw things the wrong way if that is made plausible. But you and I both know there isnt one. You havent provided one either. But maybe there is a hidden USP we both dont know? Consider that the challenge Ive provided that you read as 'rude'. If the product is solid, I will see myself corrected surely!

As for claiming the market... lol. Why? A desk is a desk, the product is done, and was done, in offices the world over for literal decades, and this desk is innovation for the sake of it with an astronomical price tag. We dont need innovation everywhere, its a marketing vehicle, gone way past common sense.

It's meant to go with iDevices, being overdesigned and overpriced is just common sense, if you really think about it.
Exactly. If the argument for pricing was just being honest about that, I wouldnt frown on this as much.. but instead it tries to sell features that are pretty much useless.

The product developer is here. Ask them questions and maybe you’ll get an answer? Or conjecture for 500 words so, idk, you can hear the sound of your own voice or whatever

And yes, I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but now I am passing judgement. If a desk is a desk is a desk just stfu. It is a market, someone made a product, and they’re proud of it. Maybe it’s trash, maybe it’s overpriced — what difference does it make if you don’t care enough to address the person directly when they afford you that courtesy? You are talking shit for shit talking’s sake, like an asshole.

Useless to you. iDevices users were amazed to have a second mouse button at some point.

Yes, going the DIY route might always seem like the cheaper and more reliable option. But let's face it, it lacks integrity. Sure, you can snag a wireless charger and slap it onto your desk, but that's just not a seamless setup, is it? That's why we're willing to go the extra mile, even if it means shouldering ten times the cost, to deliver a product that embodies true integrity. We know it's not everyone's cup of tea, and not everyone is willing to foot the bill. But we're betting there are folks out there who will. For those who do, we've designed a replaceable wireless charger module, ensuring that if any issue arises, a solution is just a swap away.

The power cord placement is yet another hurdle we've tackled. Let's be honest, the majority of standing desks out there have power cords dangling from the desktop, which is nothing short of a hassle when adjusting the desk's height, particularly when the cord isn't near a wall. That's why we've upped the game with a spring cord system that extends from the base, keeping things a bit tidier. Granted, it's not the ultimate solution - in a perfect world, we'd have the cord seamlessly integrated within the legs. But let's face it, current engineering just isn't there yet in terms of reliability. So, we're sticking to what we know works best, offering the most reliable solution available to date
