I think that's fair. Under one condition though: The "reason to close" the topic should probably be made clear.

IMO, there's a clear reason to close the topic. "Twitter renames to X" is a dead discussion point, and I'm willing to bet that no one today, or in the near future, has anymore to say on the renaming Twitter->X issue. (Subject to PMs to me or you after this topic is closed).

If a future tech event relating to Twitter/X/social media pops up, its probably a better idea to make a new topic / news article about that topic rather than continue this topic. That way, we can refocus on whatever new news event there is.
