To celebrate our presence here at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, today we revealed that the local and world-famous Nürburgring GP circuit will be available in Forza Motorsport at launch on October 10. What's more, as part of our plan to regularly bring new content to the game after release, we are also happy to confirm the iconic 12.9-mile (20.83 km) Nordschleife will be coming in Spring 2024.

Both tracks have been completely rebuilt for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nürburgring GP is the latest addition to the 20 tracks featured in Forza Motorsport on day one - with more announcements remaining, check out the list of tracks we've announced to date. In addition to our track lineup, Forza Motorsport starts with over 500 cars, and this list will continue to expand beyond launch. Check out the cars we have announced so far and stay tuned for future car reveals as we get closer to release day.

Forza players attending Gamescom are invited to the Forza Motorsport theatre experience from Thursday, August 24 through Sunday, August 27. Here you will be treated to the amazing racing action that awaits in the Builders Cup, the new single-player career mode in Forza Motorsport. We'll be showcasing brand-new gameplay featuring a group of super-fast German sedans competing at another new to Motorsport track we're announcing, the high-speed Mugello Circuit.

In honor of Porsche's 75th anniversary and their partnership with Xbox and the Forza franchise, fans are also invited to visit the Xbox booth to see a custom-wrapped 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S with 6 custom Xbox Series X consoles. Forza Horizon 5 players can download the car featuring that same livery today from the Message Center and it will be available to drive in its stock colors in Forza Motorsport at the game's release.

EXPERIENCE FORZA MOTORSPORT ON PC
Starting today PC players can pre-order Forza Motorsport on Steam and play up to 5 days early from October 5th by pre-purchasing the Premium Edition. With cross-play for online matchmaking and cross-saves, you can play with your friends across PC and console and for the first time, continue your racing journey across Xbox Series X|S and Steam with shared progression and achievement unlocks.

If you're wondering how your PC will run the game, we've created this spec sheet which outlines the minimum, recommended, and ideal PC setups to enjoy the game. We've optimized it to look and play great across a wide range of PCs, taking advantage of cutting-edge PC hardware and technologies with real-time ray tracing on-track and maximum performance enabled by NVIDIA DLSS 2 and AMD FSR 2.2. These upscaling techniques reduce load on your PC, rendering the game at a lower resolution while keeping image quality intact.

Forza Motorsport on PC supports native resolutions up to 4K and beyond, rendering ultrawide and non-standard resolutions for on-track gameplay.

We've also introduced shader pre-compilation and pre-caching in Forza Motorsport. This feature already exists in Forza Horizon 5 - it's the "Optimizing for Your PC" screen that shows up when you first launch or update the game - and it's designed to prevent shader compilation stutter during gameplay. Forza Motorsport also supports DirectStorage for CPU improvements when loading files to memory. This results in faster track loading.

In addition, unlocked framerates with or without V-Sync enabled are supported for single-player racing in Forza Motorsport. In multiplayer, framerates are locked to ensure a consistent and competitive online racing experience for all players across a variety of PC hardware configurations and the Xbox Series X|S consoles. Please note that the first time you launch Forza Motorsport on PC, by default the home space and menu navigation will be locked to 30 FPS, however this can be unlocked in the video options menu.

What's more, we expect to continue optimizing and improving Forza Motorsport on PC after launch. Be sure to share your wishlist of PC-specific features with us at the Forza Suggestions Hub by upvoting features you'd like to see, or starting new threads for items that haven't been suggested yet.

PLUG IN AND PLAY WITH YOUR FAVORITE DEVICES
Forza Motorsport natively supports popular racing wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec. We also support the DirectInput API on PC, enabling players to plug in and play with a much wider range of hardware than before. This level of device extensibility means Forza Motorsport is accessible to more players who use custom hardware setups.

Remapping your controller, mouse and keyboard, as well as other devices connected to your PC is also supported. With the DirectInput API, you can plug in and remap your favorite high-end steering wheel, non-standard controller (like a USB NES gamepad) and even a flight stick.

Forza Motorsport features rumble vibration support for Xbox controllers and improved force-feedback for wheel users, taking advantage of advanced wheel features to display RPM, shift lights and race data on custom screens.

SEE YOU AT THE STARTING LINE
Forza Motorsport is coming October 10 to Xbox Series X|S consoles, Windows 10 and 11 PCs via the Microsoft Store and Steam, and Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and Cloud Gaming (Beta).

Pre-order the Forza Motorsport Premium Edition on the Microsoft Store or Steam and play the full game up to 5 days early. Here's a look at what's included in each version of the game available for pre-order.

Sooo they're touting that they're doing us a favor by "releasing new content" after the game is released, even though the previous games came with the GP, Nordschleife, and full configurations. Sounds like another half baked game at launch. Guess I'll be waiting awhile on this one.

I have Gamepass and have been waiting for this, but am only cautiously optimistic regarding the PC version.

Turn 10 are pretty much bipolar with support for PC.
They just borked FH5 up on it with the latest update and the games been out for nearly 2 years already...

Man modern gaming is shit with MS. I liked the older Forza games and actually bought em. But this bullshit with each one having a bunch of cars already in the game but locked behind a paywall... Nah. That's why I'll only ever play it on gamepass. They don't bother selling a complete game without a massively inflated price, so I wont pay.

I actually fired up Forza 6 on disc on the Xbox the other day. The sheer amount of cars in the list that are part of some specific pack, that then takes me to the store and says content unavailable.. It's just crap.
I was a bit disappointed in GT7, but at least that doesn't direct me to the store every time I find a fancy new car.

Really sad to see Forza getting dragged into the corporate bullshit of constant, pervasive, unavoidable microtransactions. Just absolute bullshit.

The worst part is these companies don't even care - it's better to have 100 people each paying $100 a month to play their game than 10,000 who only paid for the game up front.

I just want to drive the new Hypercars around Mosport, Imola, Spa, Sebring, Sonoma, Road Atlanta, COTA and Elkhrat Lake. Plus the staples like Laguna Seca and Indy.

Sorry folks, I know nothing about these racing sims.

Can you race old cars in period races? Meaning, can I drive a Formula 1 car from the Seventies against other cars of that era under historic course conditions?

I watch the Monaco Grand Prix and it's actually pretty boring today because those stretch limos they drive basically don't allow for any passing. I would much rather take to Monaco's streets in a racecar that would have been on the road fifty years ago which none of the on-board technology that today's cars feature.

Sad to see that my Forza friends now get the same shit we got on the Gran Turismo side. I was looking forwards for Gran Turismo 7, but the way Polyphony/Sony sees GT fans as cash cows ready to pay 80 bucks for a game that disables itself once the server go down and with even deeper microtransation integrations than GT6... blah. Thank god the old games still hold up to this day! but I don't know what i'll do once my PS3 kicks the bucket.

Looking like online is going to be 30fps locked? I’ll pass
This was going to be a preorder for me too. Huge fan of the games, but between no local multiplayer and a kneecapped online I don’t see the appeal.

Ok fair enough, Forza 7 was equally as bad though with being "broken" at times (and FH4 though diff studio as you pointed out).

At launch total disaster, then it got better, but then it was a disaster again after another update etc.
I never even tried to finish all the endurance challenges, because it just crashed too often.

I only play them in single player but I have never had any issues with any of them on either of my PC configurations which usually span 2 gpu generations. I actually feel like the Playground games Horizon series are better pc ports overall. I have high hopes for this but will likely wait for reviews before dropping 60+ on it. I only buy them from the Microsoft store not sure if that makes any difference vs the steam version.

You can wait as long as you want, it won't get any better or more complete with Microsoft. ;) You buy the most complete edition, which is usually the "Premium Edition". After that they will release periodically "Car Packs" you have to pay extra if you want access to. And if you missed purchasing them before they pull the game from the store you're out of luck. Forever. The cancer of modern gaming.

It does. :) If you buy on STEAM you also buy into "Double DRM".

Requires 3rd-Party Account.JPG

Which means if the account linking is broken somehow you loose access to the game. You'll also get kicked from the game if either the Microsoft or the STEAM servers are down. Just look at the reviews of those games (Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, etc.) on STEAM, most negative reviews are about DRM mess. That's why it's smart to buy those games only on/for their own platforms. They or keys shops also often have way better deals for their platforms than for STEAM.

Afaik they laserscanned Nords ahead of the FM5 release. That game was a launch title for the Xbox One a decade ago. The track will have evolved since then, so they're doing it anew. Whether that's necessary is debatable, I don't think it is, but I believe this to be the reasoning for it. 20km of track takes a while.

Yes, 99% sure you'll be able to do so. You can set races to only allow cars of a certain division, such as f.ex 70s Grand Prix cars. If that is enabled, you'll only be able to select cars from that division, the AI will also only have such cars at their disposal. Also works in multiplayer. This is how it was in FM7, and I doubt this functionality will be removed for this game, since it was heavily leaned upon for the career mode, and I would assume it'll be the same thing here.

No, it won't be locked to 30fps. Turn 10 makes bafflingly stupid decisions sometimes but if this were to be the case, they would singlehandedly kill their franchise with that. FM games have been 60 fps in races and MP, even on the slowest consoles, ever since XB1. Not entirely sure, but I'm almost certain FM2, 3 and 4 all ran at 60fps. Whether the OG game on the OG Xbox ran at 60, that I'm not sure of it, and I could see it being 30. They are gonna have a hard time justifying 30fps multiplayer when current gen consoles often have 120fps modes for certain games (f.ex Destiny 2 on PS5). I hope they drop support for the entire line of Xbox One consoles with this game. If they do so, then there is no technical justification for having 30fps MP.
