why do they keep using those earpads, they are literally the worst design ever, peeling junk.

here I am still rocking my HM5 pleather pads for like 7 years now and not a single tear or flake on it. only cost 15 bucks. im sure buying at volume they could get that price down less than half...

companies are so cheap, its just pathetically sad.

its just so sad to me the sheep buying markets don't care about quality anymore, and the designers themselves don't care about the products they make. its all really sad. i take pride in what i do for a living, as Aristotle says, I am fulfilling my entelechy

I don't own any HyperX headphones, only keyboards, but I heard good things about them.
In one game I had a teammate with Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro and that guy heard footsteps from long distances, but then I met another guy with HyperX who heard footsteps from even further away. I've seen pro players and streamers using HyperX headphones. I can't say anything about quality/comfort, because I don't own them.

It would interesting to do a comparison between gaming headphones and check with which one you can hear the footsteps faster. Something like the test made in the clip posted here:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/acezone-a-rise-gaming-headset/4.html

Save replays in games with enemies coming towards you and test different headphones to see which is better.

What would be even more interesting to see if it's possible to tune audiophile headphones and use them for gaming. With a good DAC/AMP and maybe APO ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ ) I'm sure there are some frequencies (maybe treble) which can be elevated to hear footsteps faster and help with imaging.
