RDNA3 shaders are not comparable to RDNA2.

Wrong. They are.

The performance difference scales in very good relation - you got RX 7900 XTX with 6144 shaders, 20% more than the 5120 shaders of RX 6950 XT, so the result was 36% higher performance.
You got RX 7900 XT with 5376 shaders, or 5% more, and your result is 15% higher performance.
You got RX 7600 with 2048 shaders, 0% more than RX 6650 XT, and your result is net 0% performance increase.

You get RX 7800 XT with 20% less shaders than RX 6800 XT and your result will be 3% lower performance.

It doesn't scale absolutely linearly because there are clocks differences.

Too bad you don't understand that the 6800Xt is a monolith GPU and the 7800XT is a chiplet based GPU. The transistor count is at least 200000 more than the Memory runs at 19.5 Gbps vs 16.5 Gbps. for the 6800XT and it has Av1 encode which the 6800XT does not. The there are QOL improvements like DP 2.1.

For one thing you don't know if it will be slower. How much do you want to bet that it will be faster ?

This is just straight up nonsense, nobody expects anything just looking at the name alone. The 4090 is like 600$ more than a 7900XTX, even the average joe as braindead as he might be would know that the 7900XTX is probably not meant to compete with the 4090. And the 7900XTX competes with the 4080 not 4070ti, obviously.

Again, utter nonsese, I am not even going to argue about this, it's way too stupid.
Of course it will be slower. Were you asleep for the 7900GRE reviews. That is barely 3-5% faster than the 6800XT and has 80CU's. Now you're telling us something with 60CU's will be as fast. The 7800XT is the 6800 replacement, the 7900XT is the 6800XT replacement. Other than RTing the 7800XT will struggle against 6800T in raster.

Do you understand the GRE Boost clock is about 1000 mhz slower (well sort of ) than the 7900XT.

Don't be mad just compare the specs and here is a snip of my Sapphire GPU clocks

So basically the GRE is a Red herring that is not meant for Gaming on purpose. I fully expect the 7800XT to be better than the 6800XT regardless of shader count as a single chip shader count would never be equal to chiplet based solutions in terms of transistor count. It is the very reason to go chiplet in the first place. Due to heat. The PCB on a 4090 is about 1/2 the length of the card but that is a single chip that needed a redesign of GPU shrouds to be cooled effectively. Why would I say that? In what world would a 6500XT need a triple fan GPU shroud? The Gigabyte 40 series cards and AMD 6000 cards share the same shroud in some classes as well. Now I did not hear anyone complain about performance at that Gamescon event in Germany last week. While they were using variants of the 7700XT and 7800XT.

This reminds me of when the 7900XT was launched and so many people (even today) say it was supposed to be called the 7800XT. Now they are actually here and the Goalposts have moved that to "it's not going to be faster".

1. You are just wrong about the numbers, it's about 10% faster than a 6800XT.
2. As pointed out above the clock speed is massively crippled, it doesn't even reach the 2000Mhz mark, my 7900XT hits 2.5Ghz stock and 2.9-3.0Ghz overclocked, the 7800XT will be clocked higher. As a matter of fact I bet it will clock even slightly higher than a 7900XT at stock according to the specs AMD list, that means it will run at 25% higher frequency, that's a lot.
3. 7800XT actually has faster memory than the 7900GRE.
4. For the last time, stop comparing RDNA2 shader counts with RDNA3.
