AGON by AOC - one of the world's leading gaming monitor and IT accessories brands - announces the first portable gaming monitor by AOC GAMING, the 16G3. The 15.6" (39.5 cm) display is designed to overhaul immersive mobile gaming and on-the-go productivity with a sleek, thin, and eye-catching design.

Boasting a captivating 15.6" Full HD IPS display that delivers striking visuals, the AOC GAMING 16G3 is an authentic gaming display designed for both PC and console enthusiasts who seek to enjoy their gaming experiences regardless of their location. The 16G3 offers a 144 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms response time (with Overdrive option enabled) - bringing to AOC's portable monitor lineup the fast-paced, high refresh rate experience gamers are accustomed to. Featuring an impressive brightness of 250 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1000:1, this monitor ensures that punchy colours, captivating highlights and shadows are displayed in all of their glory, whether indoors or outdoors.

Sleek design, ultimate portability
With looks that seamlessly fuse black and red accents, the 16G3 radiates a refined and unapologetically bold style. Its svelte 11.5 mm profile and feather-light weight of less than 1.1 kg are a nod to both aesthetics and practicality. With its size matching those of laptops with 15.6" screens, the monitor will fit in most laptop bags, and for extra security, comes with a padded carrying bag. Complementing its minimal design, the 16G3 also comes with a built-in smart stand, affording a range of tilt angles to ensure the most comfortable viewing experience during extended gaming sessions in any imaginable location. Transitioning between portrait and landscape modes is an intuitive affair thanks to the Auto-Pivot function, accessed effortlessly through the included i-Menu software.

Seamless connectivity for an uninterrupted gaming experience
The 16G3 offers a good range of connectivity options that cater to modern gaming versatility. While the microHDMI input accommodates last-gen and current-gen consoles (such as PS4, PS5 or Xbox One, Xbox Series S or X) and legacy laptops, one of the USB-C inputs supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and power unit, enabling seamless connections to laptops. The second USB-C port of the 16G3 allows DC power input, streamlining cable management. This DC power can be routed via the first USB-C port to the connected laptop, enabling it to be charged and the display to be shared at the same time.

What's more, this portable model features two 1 W speakers, and also boasts a headphone out jack for gamers using headsets.

The AOC GAMING 16G3 transcends gaming boundaries, adapting effortlessly to various scenarios. Besides its main usage as a gaming display, aspiring professionals can leverage it as a secondary screen connected to their laptops for impactful presentations, or harness it as a dynamic second monitor for a quick and efficient multi-monitor setup to improve their productivity on the move or even in the office. A 50x50mm VESA mount support allows a fixed installation as well. Gamers can dive into exhilarating gaming sessions even outside of their comfort zones, ensuring that the excitement of their favourite titles accompanies them wherever their adventures take them.

The AOC GAMING 16G3 will be available from mid-September 2023 at an MSRP of £249.99.

I've never understood who buys these, what's the use case? If I have a laptop, then...well I have the laptop screen. If I have a desktop, then I can probably lug a normal monitor around too. I guess maybe for a NUC / very SFF build maybe? Or maybe as a second screen to hook up to a laptop if you absolutely must have two screens when traveling?

Maybe that was impressive 30 years ago.
In 2023 that is bellow average. If there's any sun/office light on you can barely see stuff.
