To get that price point on a 27" panel, they had to cut some corners somewhere, but we don't know which ones, since they failed to list any actual specs other than the refresh rate..... speaking of which, since when is 180Hz considered "blazing fast" ? There are plenty of 240Hz monitors out there, albeit at higher prices, but just sayin :D

Cutting corners may be a factor, but since AOC has been a predominately European brand it's possible they are trying to buy market share in the US by cutting margin.

What I do find suspect is that this monitor was just announced yet the amazon listing has over 5000 reviews... Which means they are doing some shady backend amazon stuff. Usually involving changing an old product to a new product which isn't supposed to be allowed.

Typical multi-product page on Amazon. I hate those. The reviews are for other, similar models.

For another $50 (usually like 30) you could get a 165Hz 1440p monitor. If you have a 3060 Ti or faster there is little to no point of getting this thing. If you have anything much slower than a 3060 Ti you probably don't need a 180Hz monitor.

They don't have any mention of the panel type even on the official webpage for it https://aoc.com/us/gaming/products/monitors/27g15

At best this will be a low end VA monitor, more probably some TN crap which I'm told every year that "they have evolved beyond the lousy colors of yesteryear" and every year consistently fail to not look like crap run over twice.

There are probably much better monitors to spend this kind of money on, many of which by AOC itself.
