For that price, it should have hall joysticks. Hall effect sticks are, when good ones are used, better than traditional analogue sticks, and they can definitely fit a good implementation into a product costing $120 USD. That said, props for using mechanical switches. Better switches will make a much bigger difference to most gamers than will hall effect joysticks, so I can sort of understand their decision-making there. Overall, it does look interesting, although I do also wish that they used mechanical switches for all of the buttons.

Whilst I will probably grab one of these at some point, can I just say that I want to see a return to pressure sensitive or analog face buttons ala PS1/PS2/PS3.

We have the Wooting now, a modern switch type exists for these.

And agree with the comment above, for the price these should be hall effect sticks.

there is lots to like. macro keys, nice to add key binds to it.
Side shoulder trigger buttons which I prefer to use.
But price is steep for me,

That price is outrageous. I'd love a gamepad with interchangeable front buttons so as to use with emulators. I believe a company making android holder gamepads (gamesir perhaps?) has made one, so it's doable. Just the ability to switch the magnetic front face buttons with ps style ones or with a nintendo-style layout, and then back to xbox/pc. Still would not pay 120 dollars for it.

The charge port is recessed but not form fitting. I looked at the xbox controller they have and its not even recessed. USB C is so basic in shape, recessed and form fitting connections should be in all controllers.

For the cost, Hall-Effect Joysticks should be standard on both version, and a little extra for full analog/pressure-sensitive buttons too.

Aside from those two things, I do like the PS style of controller, and would be tempted in something like this given the additional buttons to utilize for something like tabbing between programs. But considering a PS4/PS5 controller can provide nearly the same performance at a cheaper cost, I'll stick to those. Heck, there are some semi-custom PS4/PS5 controller customizers who sell versions with hall-effect sensors for slightly less to very much less.

Does anyone else also find the PC gamepad market completely broken?

All this nice hardware, yet 99% games only support and show layout of a goddamn Xbox controller... Even AAA games don't give af.

Does anyone else also find the PC gamepad market completely broken?

I've always wanted to be able to swap on screen xbox button prompts for Playstation buttons but still use a xbox controller.

I have to think for a half second with xbox prompts but with PS prompts there's no hesitation.

I bought the GameSir G7 SE recently and I love the hall effect sticks. You can lower the deadzones and they feel amazing.

If they made a wireless one with properly positioned view/menu buttons, I'd get one right away.

Agreed with the Hall Effect joysticks should be standard with these... Unfortunately they are a big company and at the end of the day only care about the shareholders.... worn joysticks=new purchase... I am happy to see the macro buttons, and the side buttons... for these alone is the reason I ordered one.

PS layout ... even if the price was in my alley, it would be a hard pass ... symetrical thumbstick is, imho, anti ergonomic (aka: it's painfull ), i do prefer tho have the left Thumbstick above my D-pad

for those who like both ... i'd rather recommend that kind of pad, cheaper and customisation is also top notch ... (i find Scuf to be like Razer ... overpriced/hyped)

(i know i know, Micro-USB, but iirc they have a USB-C model recently ... or i am mistaken ... either way ... it's not an issue, as they supply the cable)


isn't the extra buttons on the Scuf (paddles or Envision style extra) a bit redundant, since you can only program them only to existing buttons on a normal pad?
iirc all XBOX/PS gamepad that have extra buttons/paddle are like that.

Personally I have another reason - on the Xbox controllers, I can operate the d-pad with my right thumb, which means I can do something while moving my character.

That's a big deal and it's not really possible on the PlayStation controllers, at least while maintaining grip with the right hand.

exactly..., also for arcade title i find the Xbox layout less of a hassle than the PS/Dualshock, original PS non dualshock was fine for that ... hence why on my PS Classic i did not change the bundled controller, for titles on PPSSPP or ePSXe or AetherSX2 (PSP PS and PS2 emulator) on phone ... the Kishi V1 i got recently is just perfect.
