GIGABYTE Technology, a leading global powerhouse in motherboards, graphics cards, and cutting-edge hardware solutions, has always committed to improving user experiences and proactively preventing any unforeseen issues, announces a crucial software update for its users.

GIGABYTE has received user feedback regarding unexpected behavior and issues when using certain brand memory modules in conjunction with GCC (GIGABYTE Control Center). After thorough investigation, it was identified that some DDR modules did not comply with JEDEC specifications, leading to the failure of SPD write protection. The issue was promptly addressed within a month by updating the BIOS to enable SPD write protection from motherboard side, thereby assisting customers in avoiding and resolving the problem.

In response to the identified issue, GIGABYTE has also implemented significant improvements in the latest GCC software update. The update focuses on optimizing the retrieval process of SPD information and reinforcing SPD protection, delivering an enhanced level of assurance to users. Users with concerns related to this issue are encouraged to visit the official GIGABYTE website and download/install the latest version of GCC (rev.23.12.06.01) directly from the following link: https://www.gigabyte.com/Consumer/Software/GIGABYTE-Control-Center/global/

Experience a Unified Software Platform Across a Range of GIGABYTE Products.
  • Enjoy an intuitive user interface designed for effortless task completion, ensuring consistency across a diverse array of supported products.
  • Leverage dedicated utilities tailored to your specific hardware with GCC, while the Update Center ensures that your product remains up to date.
  • Benefit from a unified user interface that spans a variety of supported products, offering an intuitive approach to performance adjustments, fan control, and customizable RGB aesthetics.

Time for a review to see how this new tool performs. Also on initial rgb implementations(X370 era) Gigabyte had BIOS based RGB controls which seems to have been removed since and hopefully Gigabyte brings that back.

Memory compatibility is the least of the problems with this unnecessary bloatware imo.

It wasn't about compatibility, but the ability to add custom SPD profiles.
