AMD last week released the FSR 3 source code to public through its GPUOpen initiative, and the modding community wasted no time in bringing the feature to popular games such as "The Last of Us: Part 1," and now, "Cyberpunk 2077." CD Projekt Red will probably bring official FSR 3 support to the game at some point, but for those who can't wait, there's DLSS3-to-FSR3 by Nukem9. Put simply, this is a DLSS 3 DLL that you replace your game's DLSS 3 library file with; which gets the game to use FSR 3 instead of DLSS 3 Frame Generation.

The latest version of DLSS3-to-FSR3 adds "Cyberpunk 2077" support, and there's an extensive guide written by AndreasLyUs on Reddit, on how to integrate it with your "Cyberpunk 2077" installation, so you can enable FSR 3. Neegzm on YouTube, published a video review on how FSR 3 mods for "Cyberpunk 2077" look and perform compared to DLSS 2. You can expect a frame-rate jump from 25 FPS with DLSS 2 Quality to 47 FPS with FSR 3 enabled. The FSR 3 mod should be particularly useful for those on older NVIDIA RTX 30-series "Ampere" GPUs, or all Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000 GPUs. Those on RTX 40-series can just take advantage of the official DLSS 3 Frame Generation support to see comparable frame-rates.

AMD and CD Projekt Red didn't provide official support so this is just a denigration of the intended gameplay experience. Its incumbent upon customers to ensure they have the right equipment to play the game instead of inappropriate manipulation of the developer's hard work.

What are you smoking? AMD had already said it will be implemented in Cyberpunk 2077. What's the problem if someone decides to make a mod? Nobody was against the DLSS mod for Starfield.

You're totally right. And obviously, FSR3 will be weaker than strong DLSS™.

People like you are the reason why these mods exist. Gamedevs are so comfortable slacking on everything that's not marketing. Bugfests of games, questionable feature sets, everlasting "maybe you should try getting a job," "it works on our machines" from tech support and so on.

We need to care about those who pay for that, not about those who have multi billion profits off of doing bare minimum.

On my oc'ed rtx 3090 2k+dlss quality, dlss ray rec. On, frame gen.+path tracing on, everything else maxed i get stable 85fps wich is awesome coz i don't have any effects of input lagg and frame pacing is perfect which was not the same with forspoken.
Modder did a Great job.

But if the tables were turned and it was Intel or Nvidia's upscaling tech being implemented by a modder for an AMD-sponsored game (Starfield, for example), you'd be singing praises from the rooftops for the same modding community right?

AMD's made their upscaling tech code open source and people like you and me (modders) are able to do cool stuff with it to help people get more performance than before out of a game. Why does everything have to be an attack on one company or another? They're all out to take our money, can't we just applaud the modding community for helping people out (Nvidia-card users included) before the official integration of FSR 3?

Well yeah, so 85fps with Frame gen means your getting a base frame rate of around 42fps. Which is low, and comes with more visible artifacts... but Cyberpunk is kind of filled with all kinds of various graphical artifacts, even at native, so pick your poisons sorta situation...

- Native TAA Ghosts/trails various animations and movement
- DLSS Ghosts less, but is a tad blurry by default and can have it's own set of artifacts
- FSR 2 Ghosts as well, tends to alias allot around transparencies and motion
- XeSS ghosts & artifacts in ways like older versions of DLSS 2
- Pathtracing ghosts and blurs animations. Along with all sorts of things on it own reguardless of AA/Upscaling
- DLSS RR can artifact small moving objects out of existance entirely ontop more other artifacting and issues.
etc etc etc

So no matter what you do, your picking a poison.

Gonna try this myself, DLSS upscaling + an open decent FG will be a good way to play certain games, gotta see this with my own eyes.

3440x1440, DLSS quality / rtx psy / no ptx / "FG" / ray recon = ~ 90 fps, blurry everywhere, like smeared vaseline on distant cars/people/etc, makes me sick in my eyeballs.
3440x1440, DLSS quality / rtx psy / no ptx / no "FG" / ray recon = 50 fps, sharp at a distance, looks good, feels good (netrunner build so my gameplay isn't fornite)

I do have a 4070 on a laptop on which i can actually use a "real" FG, and there's no smearing .
Pick your poison yeah but also no poison is good too

I've tried all sorts of things just like Trunks and came to the same conclusion

Of course, but the topic is not about that. Cyberpunk also represents an odd moment in PC gaming graphics... Which is related to the topic.

I tried this both in Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield. Suffice it to say, nVidia screwed RTX2000/3000 owners, the "issues" they claim, are very minimal, and the games are playable in this state. They could have made many people happy if they flapped their mouths less and worked on improving it for older generation cards, but no, they wanted to coerce people to buy the RTX4000 to get access to frame generation.

I am sure modders/developers will improve on FG even further. My linear mechanical keyboard is broken and I am waiting for my replacement, I am using a very old throwaway keyboard at the moment, but the games still feel snappy enough. When I turn on Low-latency+Boost, my mouse feels more or less the same, sure I can feel a slight delay, but nothing to complain about, I won't use it in an e-sport setting, but definetly anywhere else.

All I can say is nVidia/Jenson, you are the lowest of the lows, scumbag.

I tried this on lowest spec of RTX 3000 series which is RTX 3050 Mobile and despite the visual flaw other already mentioned, it runs great! This is with ray tracing set to medium and shadow rt is on with mix of medium and high setting (DLSS is balanced or high). Despite the flaws, most of the time I see Vsync-like tearing and shadow flickering with some input lag I could live with it and it wasn't as bad as having low fps, because the framerate and frametime is good! I'm sure modders will ironed out bugs to makes it better as time goes by.

Yeah nvidia really stoop to new low by limiting this to only new gens. This supposed to be a game changer, really the performance benefits allows low end and older gens user to use RT and enjoy the visuals.
