GIGABYTE certainly came to the CES 2024 show in force and big part of its showcase were existing and new monitors, including the 48-inch OLED AORUS FO48U and the 49-inch OLED AORUS CO49DQ gaming monitors. During the show, GIGABYTE revealed a bit more information about its current monitor lineups, including gaming oriented AORUS, as well as multimedia, and standard G- and GS-series gaming monitors.

The flagship offer and the star of the monitor show at GIGABYTE's CES 2024 event was certainly the AORUS OLED monitor lineup, including the CO49DQ, MO34WQC2, FO32U2P, and the FO48U. The big 34-inch AORUS MO34WQC2 OLED monitor with 3440x1440 WQHD resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate is certainly a sight to behold. It is AMD FreeSync Premium certified, has 0.03 ms GTG response time, has integrated KVM switch, and offers two DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 inputs. The CO49DQ is also another one that peaked our interest, and although it does not include the KVM switch, this 49-inch 10-bit OLED monitor with 5120x1440 resolution offers impressive picture quality with 99% DCI-P3 but sticks with 144 Hz refresh rate. It is also AMD FreeSync Premium certified and has two DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, but lacks integrated KVM switch.

The AORUS FO lineup includes two monitors, the FO32U2P and the FO48U, both OLED gaming monitors with 3840x2160 UHD resolution. The FO32U2P offers 240 Hz refresh rate with 10-bit color panel and 99% DCI-P3, and it is also AMD FreeSync Premium certified. In addition to the single DisplayPort 2.1 and one mini DisplayPort 2.1 input, it also has a full-size DisplayPort 2.1 output, which gives it support to daisy chain multiple monitors, which might be useful in some situations.

the MO34WQC2 looks interesting, BUT it's curved so that's a total showstopper for me, and will probably cost an arm and a leg.
They also don't mention if these are the 3rd gen samsung qd-oled panels, if not then meh

To be fair, it's probably 1300R which is almost no curve compared to 800R on LG panels.

Which one is this:

I have a FV43U and love it. No neck strain here. Anime and Strategy Games are spectacular.

Didn’t think people care who is the oled manufacturer . This is likely the LG w oled panel vs Samsungs qd oled. I think it will come down to coating used and text clarity i/o etc since most other major specs are similar . LG ones tend to be pricier so likely this may cost more than a Samsung panel equivalent but who knows competition etc.
Based on tftcentral looks like this panel will be available later in the year q2 time frame

the new samsung 3rd gen qd-oled is very impressive and goes beyond the panel itself, thus i don't see a point on buying "old tech" at premium prices on a new product

Maybe I didn’t explain this better. The 2 major OLED manufacturers are Samsung and LG. Both of them have a new gen OLED tech coming this year. Samsung one is coming in Q1. The latest QD. LG is coming in Q2-3. The latest Woled. Vendors such as MSI Dell Gigabyte Acer etc use their panels and depending on who they use (Samsung or LG) their monitor release date will be different but the tech is new just some different features and pricing

Are you getting 3rd gen QD-OLED in these monitors? I doubt it if they are being released soon. I doubt we'll even see the new anti-reflection coating used.

There's no new AR coating on 3rd gen QD-OLED panels. They still don't use polarizer layer either.

Based on the CES coverage , qd oled panels will start to show up for sale in Q1. I don’t think we know exactly when but “soon” . The Lg based ones are later in Q2-3. Again just going by the ces coverage stuff I’ve seen

The first 3rd-gen QD-OLED monitors, the Dell Alienware 32" and 27" ones, are going on sale tomorrow in the US and canada. The MSI models are coming next month. Several others are also probably coming Q1. So they're definitely coming soon.

I'm confused by the headline. I have the current FO48U. Is it being refreshed or is it just part of the line-up, existing model, no updates?

I can't find any information from Gigabyte about a new revision, so I believe it's just the old model coming along for the ride to sit alongside all the newcomers. The writer here must have been confused and thought it was a new product.

The AORUS FO32U2P youtube promotion says it's a QD-OLED,
but QD is not the "new thing", is that it's the 3rd gen QDOLED, and the collective doubt is if these monitors will be 3rd gen or older since they're releasing too "soon" for them to be 3rd gen apparently
