MSI has fielded a plethora of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series custom designed graphics cards at CES 2024—TPU staffers had their work cut out when documenting and taking photos of the many options on display. As announced on Monday, MSI is introducing a wide range of SUPER cards—in SUPRIM, EXPERT, GAMING TRIO, GAMING SLIM and VENTUS flavors. We were unable to track down a couple of these models, but the absence of SUPRIM and GAMING TRIO cards at CES was a relatively minor thing when exploring everything else positioned on MSI's extended table.

First up is the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G GAMING X SLIM model, available in standard black or white. Despite the "SLIM" moniker, this topflight SUPER model is still a substantial prospect in terms of dimensions (refer to the photos below)—it houses MSI's trusty TRI FROZR 3 thermal system and a triple TORX FAN 5.0 array. We also see the very intriguing new GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G EXPERT model—PC enthusiast community members had their interests piqued by a recently previewed design that echoes NVIDIA's Founders Edition aesthetic, albeit with a quirkier spin.

The SUPER 16G EXPERT sports a dual fan setup configured to operate in a push/pull manner. MSI's accompanying placard states that this card features a unique fan design that has been patented. Zero Frozr and a vapor chamber (covering the GPU and memory modules) are also in play here. The housing is of an aluminium die-cast construction, which is certainly a show stopper when compared to the other gaming-oriented MSI cards on exhibit in Las Vegas.

TPU's resident graphics card reviewer—W1zzard—has thoroughly recommended MSI's VENTUS 3X OC triple-fan cooling solution in the past. It is encouraging to see MSI roll out this design with the latest SUPER offerings. At the top of this heap we have MSI's GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G VENTUS 3X OC model. Sitting just below in their hierarchy is the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G VENTUS 3X OC card.

MSI also showcased some dual-fan VENTUS models—these more compact options that house the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16 GB GPU include a standard hue VENTUS 2X OC card, or a VENTUS 2X WHITE OC alternative.

The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12G VENTUS 2X WHITE OC card was sitting next to its more potent siblings:

The standard black MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G GAMING X SLIM, and the GAMING X SLIM WHITE alternative were also present as CES 2024:

Stepping down in the range, the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12G GAMING X SLIM (black) and GAMING X SLIM WHITE and were in attendance:

MSI chose to showcase its (non-SUPER) GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8G GAMING SLIM Monster Hunter Edition on a separate table—this franchise tie-in graphics card was introduced last week alongside several other gaming products. TPU captured this lonesome limited edition model after wrestling with the many SUPER options on display chez MSI's convention presence:

We will make sure to check the status of MSI's upcoming RTX 40 SUPER Series SUPRIM and GAMING TRIO cards.

I was checking yesterday in their page....

Those "slim" designs really don't look slim... *Sigh* my current Gaming Z trio is a 2 slot in the pcie bracket albet the gpu is 2.7-3 slot gpu..
I guess I will have to remove my vertical gpu bracket until I move to a 011D XL..

I might be able to fit in my current case a 3 slot one but that might hit the ram....... so rip

Oh well

The "slim" designs appear to only the 4070 Super and 4070 Super Ti cards. This is if you call "slim" where they are 2 slot pcie bracket but total thickness with the cooler may be 2.75. Seems about the same size as my current card, which like you, is also in a vertically mounted position. I did this since my card was too long, which would not clear my radiator/fans in the vertical front section. Though I assume you are looking at the 4080 slim, which looks like close to 3.75-4 slot thickness. I would be more concerned about the space between the glass panel for proper cooling. How high is your vertical mount that it could affect ram clearance? Thanks.

I think I'm most likely I will just remove the vertical support as I would like to populate another pcie with a 10GB network card, I'm using currently a X4 port for my soundcard so I will need to swap those around.. I was thinking of getting a dremel and cutting a slot for the soundcard be in vertical next to the GPU.., xd By the time I got the vertical support for this case I didn't know everything will be this tight! I also have tried to put my soundcard between motherboard and gpu but no luck aligning everything to put the brake inside the pcie slot.. :/

It's just a bit of a boomer, I have 6 fans tuned to run from the ambient case temperature to keep everything as silent as possible.. so vertical gpu is the best cooling =/= silence ratio.

In the pictures now you will see how tight the clerance to the cpu block and the ram is.. it's tight, every time I pull the gpu I need to remove the ram completely otherwise it won't let me align the vertical support at all!
