CORSAIR Launches High Performance Air A115 CPU Cooler

The A115 is equipped with two CORSAIR AF140 ELITE Fans, featuring AirGuide technology with anti-vortex vanes that deliver concentrated airflow. These high-performance fans max out at 1,600 RPM while generating a low 33.9 dBA of noise thanks to their fluid dynamic bearings. CORSAIR's innovative Slide-and-Lock fan mount system, now slimmer than ever, features a tool-free ratcheting mechanism that enables variable mounting height for broad DRAM height compatibility, making it a breeze to replace your memory module.

To ensure a secure fit on high-performance CPUs, the A115 is engineered with the CORSAIR HoldFast 2.0 Retention System, including brackets for the latest Intel LGA 1700 and AMD AM5/AM4 sockets. Thermalright has one with the same design for about 1/2 that on Amazon. They are huge though

I have Peerless Assassin 120 white, very big and cools great for $58.

Considering their last air cooler was a massive flop I'm somewhat surprised they're introducing a new cooler with this price tag. They clearly believe some people will only do `Corsair = Quality` and expect to make bank on that instead of having a modest price to get the word out and get some market adoption.
Imo all air coolers over 100$ are just not worth it considering you're close to maxing out air coolers at 50$ already. If they go above 100$ you're paying more than half the price for the cooler that isn't spent on cooling performance.

The only time this was not true was TR4. Noctua made an Air cooler for about $140 that directly competed with every AIO in terms of performance. It is still connected to my 2920x/X399 MB.

It's supposed to mean exactly what they want you to think it means...that their new cooler is better than every other one on the market

The competitors are those which absolutely nobody has ever heard of, or worse, some that they just made up....this IS a marketing slide after all....

And by NOT naming names, they can avoid getting sued for making false, misleading, or deceptive claims about their cooler's performance relative to the "competition"

To be fair, I am doubtful that there will be any advancements significant enough to MAKE an air-cooler that would be meaningfully better at its job than the DH-15. We are kinda tapped out with air coolers, unless one wants to strap like a 5Kg hunk of metal to their MB.

Meanwhile, I'm going to use one of my AMD Wraith Prism coolers on my next build. It may be slightly loud at times, but it is the best looking cooler I have ever owned.

Noctua U14 is where it's at

Last time I checked a D15 could be had for around $95. With the thermalright coolers being a thing (difficult to purchase in some regions though), this corsair cooler is DOA. Seems to be a trend for most of their recent products.

This is a very expensive for what is just another regular dual tower heatsink. If they're really asking for $135 CAD like on Corsair's website, then that's even more expensive than Noctua's NH-D15 ($110 CAD on Amazon, regular non-sale price), and Noctua is not known for being cheap. What Noctua is known for is great long term support, which I doubt Corsair can match.

It'll be crap, the fan mounting mechanism is hideous, their Fans are loud and made of the cheapest nastiest plastics with Crap bearings.

There's plenty of competition in this market, especially because many don't want non-CHROMAX Noctuas which are heavily overpriced
I like Noctua and use their fans but in Redux and Chromax offerings only

People generally don't like huge dual tower air coolers, that fills up the entire case and makes it almost impossible to change out GPUs, M.2 SSDs, Memory etc. And changing CPU takes forever. If you travel with the machine the huge weight can easily break something.

Peerless Assassin 120 is the best higher-end value Air Cooler right now, I would not even consider buying anything else
