One that "needs" a new phone, in reality, is between 0.1 and 0.2% of mobile users. Even a 4 or 5 years old phone is perfect to run ANY applications and games you throw at it. Heck, I have an "old" iPhone 7 plus, and runs EVERYTHING with zero issues, games included. And that phone is almost 8 years old. I also recently changed its battery and now is like brand new.
So?
There are lots of people who are very clumpsy and regularly break their phones, and often it is cheaper to get a new phone through carrier deals than having to replace screen etc on the broken phones.
And then there are all those who gets their phones stolen.
So no, those 0.1 % of yours is way off...
