As we're about to enter February, there are a bunch of new releases to look forward to this coming week, oddly enough many of them Japanese, just like this past week. This week's major release is based on a DC comics movie, which may or may not be appealing. As for the rest of this coming week's releases, we got a turn-based roguelike, some corsairs, punching, but only once, a fantasy action RPG, an anime 3D fighter and a JRPG. Hopefully there's something here for almost everyone.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League / This week's major release / Friday 2 February
From Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the Batman: Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a genre-defying third-person action shooter where the ultimate band of misfits must do the impossible to save the world: Kill the Justice League. Join the newly "recruited" members of Amanda Waller's infamous Task Force X (aka the Suicide Squad), Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, as they set out on an impossible mission to Kill the Justice League. Drop into an expansive and dynamic open-world Metropolis ravaged by Brainiac's invasion and terrorized by the heroes who once protected it.

Outcast Tales: The First Journey / Monday 29 January
The First Journey is just the beginning of a much grander experience (as the name sort of implies!). So, for now, familiarize yourself with the wasteland - you'll spend a lot more time in it when Outcast Tales is out! Robots, mutants, desert raiders: almost all enemies have something up their sleeve. So do your characters: some abilities are most effective in combination with others. Find your opponents' weaknesses, humiliate them on the battlefield, and never ponder the moral implications of your actions!

Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG & Sea Battles / Tuesday 30 January
Get ready for a great adventure in 'Corsairs Legacy' the game that you play as Rufus Monroe, an adventurous smuggler who transports cargoes through naval patrols in the Caribbean. But when an ordinary raid on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago goes wrong, Rufus and his crew come face to face with a Spanish naval patrol ship, which leads to the beginning of a new and unexpected adventure.

One Punch Man: World / Wednesday 31 January
Based on the global hit "One-Punch Man" anime, One Punch Man: World will immerse fans in the series' first season, including all new scenes and perspectives! Players can explore openworld hubs, take on quests, and level up 19 iconic characters, each featuring their own unique easy-to-learn, hard-to-master action-combat styles. Lovers of dynamic team ups can take their strongest characters into multiplayer to tackle more challenging bosses.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink / Thursday 1 February
Granblue Fantasy takes place in the Sky Realm, a world where myriad islands float in a great blue expanse. Take your role as captain of a skyfaring crew, joined by a scrappy little dragon named Vyrn and a young girl with mysterious powers named Lyria. Together you sail with a colorful cast of crewmates, including kings and misfits alike, for Estalucia, a fabled island beyond the end of the skies. In the Zegagrande Skydom, islands are guarded by powerful creatures known as primal beasts and winds carry tales of a secretive organization known as the Church of Avia. Unveil a web of intrigue reaching far beyond the borders of Zegagrande and engage in a battle for the fate of the Sky Realm itself.

Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash / Friday 2 February
Master the Jujutsu of your favorite Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits! Bring a friend and dive into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen in this action-packed, 2-on-2 fighting game! Aim to become the strongest together by taking advantage of the characteristics of each technique, aiming for a Joint Attack that is triggered by combining attacks, and working together in harmony to assess the battle situation!

Persona 3 Reload / Friday 2 February
Step into the shoes of a transfer student thrust into an unexpected fate when entering the hour "hidden" between one day and the next. Awaken an incredible power and chase the mysteries of the Dark Hour, fight for your friends, and leave a mark on their memories forever. Persona 3 Reload is a captivating reimagining of the genre-defining RPG, reborn for the modern era.

I would unironically suggest that P3R is a more “major” release than the Suicide Squad game. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve seen, like, absolutely no hype behind it. They have shown it a year ago, it looked absolutely dreadful, they delayed it to improve it and… now it’s just coming out. In the most dead of times for major releases. Yeah, this doesn’t bode well for it.
Don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of bones to pick with Atlus for P3R too. No The Answer? No FemMC and no Portable content? Come on.

Just checked some gameplay for "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" and already got motion sick watching. :twitch: Sounded like some Marvel themed Left4Dead/Payday, it sadly isn't at all.

Top Youtube comment pretty much sums it up: "Why is so much happening but at the same time nothing is happening? How did they do that? That alone is an achievement!"

^^ P.S.: that's the real reason Youtube removed the like/dislike bar.

My biggest gripe with Atlus is that to this day only Nocturne is available outside of Nintendo platforms out of all mainline games. I wonder if they signed a deal with Ninty that precludes them from porting everything from Soul Hackers remaster and Strange Journey all the way to V to Playstation or PC.

That Suicide squad commercial was awful.

Everything censors the word suicide nowadays. Or people just do it for some reason by using the word unalive or other dumb shit.

What does that mean for this game? Are people going to cry when they read the title? Are they going to kill themselves because they encountered the word again, after it's been stricken from social zeitgeist?

^ Just Youtube's "standards" - demonitize or remove videos with words deemed problematic for any reason, suicide being one of them. But this one is soooo dumb - if you are triggered by mention of it you literally see the title and know not to click, sooooooo...

Good to see Suicide Squad so low on the poll.
